I live in Michigan. A couple of years ago my line count went into the dumpster because of NJA almost every day. I went online and applied for unemployment and to my surprise was awarded partial benefits, so for a few months I worked and collected unemployment too.

My line count then finally picked up a little, so I was making too much to be able to collect the unemployment anymore.

So, if you get NJA a lot it won't hurt to apply for unemployment, you just might qualify. But just remember if you use up all your benefits while you are still working and then the unspeakable happens and you get laid off or fired, then your benefits are all gone.

I read not too long ago here that we can get compensated by means of Unemployment Benefits, if after working for the same company for years, we suddenly make less, in other words, our pay we make an hour has decreased (say, for SR reasons) on a regular basis than we used to 6 months earlier.

Making much less than last year (or even 6 mos ago). It is definitely because of the crappy ASR but how do you prove that to the unemployment office? Can't MQ just say you are "slacking off" and that is why you are making less? This is what prevents me from bothering to apply.

I KNOW it's the crappy VR actually GETTING WORSE. In the past, I could make a certain amount per hour pretty reliably. Now, there is no way I can come even close no matter how hard I try. So it's the VR. No other reason. But how can you prove it?

My pay has gone done about $3,000.00 per year since 2007 - SQ

I got out my taxes for the last 4 years, and on average I lost $3,000.00 per year due to pay cuts, ASR and lack of work. Now I too just started collecting partial due to no work available.

So, in CA we are eligible for UP to 4 hours per day of NJA pay. Big deal, there are so many hoops/restrictions that it is very difficult to get. And I'm FT so even if I did get paid up to 4 hours per day, that's still only half of what I could make. I keep seeing MTs saying they make more on UE than at work. Isn't your UE based on what you made prior to applying for UE? If you make say $400 a week before UE, then UE would be a smaller percentage than $400 a week to the best of my knowledge. I never thought you would make even as much on UE let alone more. Worked for MQ for years, quit with proper notice. Then hired back on PT, couldn't handle PT and FT job and quit Without notice. If I need to (or want to) go back to MQ FT would they even consider me since I quit without notice? ...

I have to say the stress level went down almost immediately. I went on to be a CNA and though physically harder work, there is room for growth financially and moving up into another position. Not so with Nuance. Growth potential at this place was zero-more like they try to keep you held down as much as possible. the summer. I took a couple months to find a new job. When I did, unfortunately, the only thing out there was transcribing so, I reluctantly took the job. I was absolutely floored. Can someone please tell me how 4 MONTHS NOTICE is insufficient for PTO?! For months you have complained about NJA and other people logging on randomly and taking your work away. So MQ comes up with a system whereby this will no longer be allowed to happen -- and you are now complaining about it too ?
