Just had an audit - first one in months. Got a 99%+ but apparently I am sending too much work through to the hospital with blanks and I need to send more reports to QA. Told them I would send more if they did not penalize me financially for doing so. These accounts are the worst by far that I have ever done in over 40 years and I am not prone to hyperbole. If they did not penalize me I would probably send 75% to QA. They can accept my work the way it is, increase the percentage we can send to QA without penalty or fire me. Will let you know.

stupid First Time Right penalty. With all the monitoring they do, why can't they speak with those who do abuse QA. I'm sure they can weed those MTs out. We should not be penalized for issues that are not our fault.

when you can't find a way out in the allotted time. Good for you for standing up to them. Let's face it, if we could give MModal 100% accuracy, they'd promise the hospitals 110%.

Im just curious but what is your QA percentage? I worked with my Quality Coach and was able to get her to listen to reports to help me have less blanks and that has helped me. Maybe you can see if your Quality Coach will do the same? Might be worth a shot.

Been doing this work over 40 years. Don't leave blanks from lack of knowledge but because the audio and the dictators are so bad that I simply can't understand them. Most dictation is done from the nurses' station with all the noise. Some days I can't play anything at normal speed because the dictation is so fast and garbled. ER docs are the worst. I'm only part-time now and close to calling it a day so I have the luxury of telling them that I will not sit here and work for 3 cents per line or minimum wage which is what that would be if I sent all the work to QA. I'm sure the QA coach would just say to look up old reports. Well, it takes too long and again, would reduce me to minimum wage. Besides, the dictation is so bad that QA can't understand them either, they are just cutting and pasting from old reports which I think is unethical.

Your CCM gets your productivity, QA percentage and should be sharing it with you. Ask your Quality Coach or your CCM about this number. You might be nowhere near the number before they dock you.

that a long time ago and I won't send anything to QA, absolutely nothing, and am still here, even if it is more than required blanks. Same goes for F11. If ya'll would F11 everything, they cannot fire everybody and maybe they would get the pay problem fixed, but nobody will do it.

I know supervisors are overworked also in this field, but I wish supervisors would stand up for their workers. Start communicating w/your MTs/Editors and Go to your higher ups and enlighten them on a few things - simply relay information to them but first you have to get it. It would benefit us both greatly. Everywhere I have worked, supervisors only communicate 1-way. They don't seek input, return e-mails, etc. I guess if your at home your out-of-site and ...

I know the job market for MTs is not like it used to be, but I am an ex hospital employee who lost her job to the big NuISance, too. If they continue to get good MTs for a pittance, they'll keep up their monopolystic tactics. In the time I worked for them, they ate up Transcend, WebMedEx, and Accentus (which was about the last company offering decent benefits, based in Canada). If they can't get good MTs, they'll have to mend their ways, but as long as their door keeps revolving, ...

as of 07/24 we all started on our "new" pay scales. I started work this morning, first thing I checked was my stats and I have THREE critical errors and the dreaded e-mailing that I failed audit... my first ding is on a verbatim report: X-Fix corrected to ex-fix. Now, I know that there is the Biomet X-fix device and that ex-fix is short for external fixator, but since at the beginning the doc refers to Biomet, I chose X-fix.
