Have you ever known a company to lay off people and then turn around the next week and give raises to those left?  It would seem that our "reward" is that we still have a job and I am sure Ms. Amy will make that abundantly clear Monday.

First of all, this is an OPTIONAL meeting, not mandatory, so I do not think they will cut our pay on a call that only a portion of the employees will attend.

I do think it is coming, and I know that almost all of the pay cuts have happened at the end of October, with changes to take place by the end of November.

Its coming, I just think they had to keep putting it back because of not everyone being put on 7.1 and then several that have not been through the mentoring program yet.

Our reward will be the 7.1 technology with report lookup that will help us make so much more money as they lower our rate to make us "competitive." Absolutely 8/4 with maybe a bump at 200 lph or 250 lph up to 4.25 or 4.5.

I am presuming she makes the announcement on the call with the pay cut to take effect before Thanksgiving.

under Human Resources, then under Compensation and Benefits, it has all these puzzle pieces and one of them is Bonus and Incentives? Isn't that strange? I wonder why it says that.

That is only one I can think of that they offer now. They used to offer a monthly or a quarterly bonus but that went the way of everything else.

When you click on Compensation the only thing that comes up talks about Company stock so I know that doesn't refer to us.

A lot of people on here have posted things like "you just wait and see, there will be a pay cut, you better believe it," etc., almost like they were waiting to be able to say "told you so!"

Believe me, I am not a "fan" of MModal, but they have taken steps in the past year to improve things. I'm glad to have the 401 back. I'm glad to see $200 more a month that they are now paying of my insurance. Do I expect a pay raise, no, but I certainly am not anticipating a pay cut, and if it happens, then we can all decide what to do about it then, but why depress yourself and dwell on it constantly. It really gets old.

...some anxiety about a pay cut--I'm guessing if they've been through things like this before, that raises their anxiety now. Sometimes, I think people post things like this because they want to be prepared for the worst, but are possibly hoping that SOMEONE can reply with reasons for optimism....some concrete evidence that they may not be aware of yet.

At any rate, haven't you ever heard the old adage that "misery loves company"? I'd be miserable, too, if I was working for this type of company; and sometimes, it just helps to vent or know that you're not the only one.

Yes, thinking positive is a good thing....it's a great thing! But, I have to admit, these MTSOs haven't given much cause for positive thoughts, and the isolation that people feel when they work from home without any flesh-and-blood coworkers makes it hard for some to cope with the stress.

I think the lower health insurance premium and the 401(k) are wonderful, but don't forget that some folks don't even MAKE enough money to participate in either of those benefits in the first place.

The company banks on people like you. Either we stand up or we will be making less and less. I have never worked a job where I lost money while I have gained experience (10K now in 10 yrs)..Again and Im done..And I want to work I just dont like to be crapped on on a regular basis.

While I admire your head in the sand approach not once in the last 6 times they have cut line rate or ASR rate did they give us any warning. Once was right before Christmas! All we know is that they are introducing a new compensation plan next week. Ask those from Spheris how their rewards plan worked out for them. Ask those of us who took yet another pay cut last year all in the name of rewards. You may not anticipate a pay cut but you should at least be prepared in case they do. A drop from 5 cpl to 4 cpl is a 20% pay cut. A drop from 6 cpl to 4 cpl is a 33% pay cut.

I just heard about a meeting with Amy, but according to her introduction email, we were supposed to get these twice a year, and also she was supposed to do 4 calls a month with a lucky MT. Dont suppose that ever happened either.

Could it be that the "13% increase" equals the amount of the quarterly bonus you were receiving? That's what mine equals out to be. I'm in that 35% and I am not getting a raise when I figure in the weekly and quarterly bonuses I previously received. Dear MModal, These cumbersome features are going to slow us down. There's no way around it.  Age and gender checks for example.  So when the dictator mentions the patient's wife and says "she," I'm going to get an alert for each of those because the patient is a male. Just curious if MQ is going to try to ignore yesterday's DocQscribe crash.  My CCM is on vacation so I just put an alert on my timecard.  The RTL told me that it was not an alert and deleted my note.  So downtime or not?  I guess I will just be short this week because I am not making up hours or taking PTO when their stupid system crashes and MQ refuses to own up to it.  Thats what they get for having us all upgrade at the same time.  ...

When I started out MT years back I transcribed for the local hospital ER docs group. I loved it, but moved on when work dwindled down. A friend works for the group of hospitals in management so I asked who was doing the ER transcription now, I wanted to apply. I was told the hospitals in this area have started using scribes and are slowly doing away with MTs altogether. The exact same thing my new GP doc told me a year ago. I was a patient in a local ER yesterday and had the nicest British physician.  I was directly across from central and was able to hear this physician dictate.  Clear, concise, perfect speed, a dream to transcribe.  The downside is the hospital uses Epic only - no editing by human hands (and ears) at all.  Why oh why can't us humans have dictators like this? ...
