Server busy??

I'm starting to pick up some local MDs on my own and was wondering how to set up a FTP server. I have used Core FTP in the past to access files on a server for another company I worked for, but now I want to set up a server for myself and my clients' use. I've googled until my eyes bleed but it's all a bit over my head (and I'm usually pretty tech savvy). I'm exhausted from sitting around doing nothing just about all week. I cannot believe the mismanagement of this company from the TSMs to the COMs and those higher. Why can't someone figure this out? Just received a job offer as an IC...the pay is pretty low at 0.575 cpl (increasing to 0.6 once off QA). Will probably accept this job as a 2nd part-time job...have another paying 0.07 cpl, but the owner doesn't pay on time and doesn't respond to my e-mails about it, either.
