Transcend, are they busy? - MTMT

Periodically I see ads from Transcend on the Job Seeker's Board for full-time transcriptionists, I think they even encourage people to apply for full time as opposed to part time. Anyway, when I read on the company board it sounds like people are always running out of work? What percentage of work does Transcend offshore, over 50%? Don't want to bother applying if there isn't a consistent workload and I don't have time to babysit and monitor work queues.

but I do have multiple accounts. If main one is low, I go to another. For me, I have probably ample work 95% of the time. Since I am part of the last merger, I remain cautiously optimistic.

I have several accounts also, but they're all Bayscribe accounts that haven't gone to VR yet. It's coming down the pike and then we'll see exactly how much work is available.

When I see all these posts about no work with Transcend, I can't help wonder if they're VR accounts. It seems that when they're on straight typing, the accounts are overstaffed to meet the TAT. But as soon as they go to VR, all those overhired are soon waiting for work since VR pretty much cuts the need for MTs in half.

At first, it was about the same, and then I started noticing there was not enough work for me on a consistent basis (I'd say an average of 2 to 3 days a week I would spent time waiting for work). I have 3 accounts. Account going to VR very shortly, so I am worried about that. I think part of the problem is the SOS sent out whenever there is more than 1 report waiting to be worked on. It seems like they want all the work to be done the minute it is dictated. It didn't used to be this way.

about having "tons" of work. Oh - I get it - they must be working and do not have time to post or are looking at a blank screen waiting to catch the job that trickles in before someone else grabs it :)

I remember she worked at Medquist and was on here a lot offering advice through all the changes. She shared how she worked through the first pay cuts in 2005 or around that time by working just three and a half days a week (lots of hours) and earning the highest production bonus possible. I'm exhausted from sitting around doing nothing just about all week. I cannot believe the mismanagement of this company from the TSMs to the COMs and those higher. Why can't someone figure this out? I am curious as to if the TLs are meeting their requirements. They are expected to type 75-80% of their time and get paid by the line as well . I am very suspicious that they are not typing VR all day, having their work sent to India, etc, and are getting the straight typing. They get paid a flat fee per month for their administrative duties on top of that. I wonder if they are experiencing no work and looking at a blank screen most of their time& ...

I have read dozens of posts on the board about Transcend, some good and a lot not so good. However, I think there is an explanation for some MTs loving it there and others hating it so much. Transcend is a company made up of many other companies through mergers. The original Transcend who existed first, before acquiring other companies seems to be the problem. I was with the company for over five years, not once failing to meet the requirements of me yet I was told my position would have to change to 2nd or 3rd shift if I wanted to keep my job as there were no positions available for 1st shift. Did anyone else get the memo from Transcend (soon to take over from DTS) about the line rate change for the transitioning employees from DTS? It was elegantly written, but basically it said that when the accounts are switched over the VR that the line rates will decrease but productivity will increase and no cut in pay is expected.
