Pay Differential? - FLMT

I am moving to the 3-11 shift to help my supervisor out (I actualy like mine) and the hours are ok for me. However, does anyone know if there is a pay differential? I can't seem to find anything in my policies

I work that shift and on my check stubs there is evening pay. How much more it is I am not sure.

evening hours are a half a cent more from I think it's 6 or 7 to 11 pm and from 11 to like 5 or 6 am it's 1 cent more - which is why I work 8 pm to 2 am - half my schedule is at the half cent and the other 3 hours is 1 cent - it adds up in the long run but not the short term - I changed when I started getting pay cuts

Hi there,

I don't think there is a pay differential for that shift unfortunately. I work the late late shift from 10:00 to 6:00 and I'm pretty sure that's the only one with a pay differential.

I work the 8-2 shift as well and there is an evening differential of half a cent per line. Being PT and not having a full check yet this year, I've earned a whopping $10 so far with these blessings. I'm sure they'll be the next to go - what's left?

ya, know, you hit the nail on the head with the so extravagant evening differential -- I, too, have found that when I figure that it's around $10-$12...but I'm sure they think that's too much - Jerks!!

LOL...I thought I had chosen a name that no one else would use, but I guess I'll change it now so they don't get us confused.

I was told (just recently) that anything from 6pm to 11pm is 1/2 cent more and anything from 11pm to 6am is 1 cent more.

I'm not sure that I'd count on this though because they'll probably end up taking this away soon too, just judging from their track record. :(

yep, it's been that way since I can't remember when, but like ya said, that'll probably be history soon -- they just keep squeezing trying to get more blood -- don't know about anyone else on here but I'm a turnip or at least I feel like one, so good luck with that big guys!! I'm a country gal and I've always been told that you can't squeeze blood from a turnip, but they sure are trying!!

Wonder how they would feel if a MT got so stressed that something really terrible happened (and I'm not wishing for this by any means, I'm just saying) and it made national news and all of the details pointed to MQ and their treatment of their U.S. MTs -- look at the postal workers, thus the phrase "I could just go postal on somebody." Excuse me, I really don't know why I bothered with this paragraph as we all know they don't give a rat's a*& about any of us, as seen by MTs who do have health problems and have a time trying to keep hours and lines -- I think they want us to stroke out on the keyboard.

To think that there are two of us demented enough to come up with this name. LOL I've been using it for a couple of years, ever since some holier than thou folks took offense with my original name. I dunno, since I'm up all night and sleep all day I thought Vampyra was perfect, but I started getting accused of performing satanic rituals, etc. No sense of the ridiculous!

Anyhoo, I really do think we'll see the end of the shift differential before long. Right before they start charging us to work for them. :o(

Depends on who you work for. I work for a hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and we get paid an extra 15% for working afternoon shift, hence why I work 3-11:30.

Last holiday (Labor Day) I was paid a differential. It is usually time and a half so going by your base you will see an additional line on your paystub of holiday lines: ex. if your base rate is 0.08 you will see holiday pay 0.1200 x 1000 lines. As far as I know, we have not received any notification that we do not get holiday pay. ...

I think I may have spoken too soon when I said they basically got rid of it. Math is definitely not my thing, but after studying it further, isn't it basically the same? It says, An additional $0.0075 per line or $0.09 per report for work transcribed between the hours of: (and then it gives the different hours for each time zone)............. Isn't that what it was before? And the .09 cents per report, is this for radiology reports? ??? ...

Kinda confused about the shift differential and how it works. I worked about 2.5 hours before the 6:00 a.m cutoff. I did 1008 lines today in that amount of time. Do I take the 1008 and multiply it by my shift differential amount and then subtract that 1008 from the total lines for the day, or is the shift differential "extra" in our pay? Just reminscing, lol. Five years ago I used to get a 1 cpl CMT differential and that was not uncommon or hard to find. Through a buyout by Transcend that differential was taken away and now with another buyout Nuance not only has no differential also, but wants to pay those of us with a CMT the same rate as a new hire with no credential. I love the ads that say "CMT or RMT preferred" but the hidden ending to that sentence is "but we don't want to pay you for it." W ...

I start work at 0500 and always have had at least 1 hour of night shift differential for each day I worked. It amounts to pretty much next to nothing money wise, but I would still like to know without having to wait on an answer from CCM. tia ...

Why do I find it hard to believe that they would actually give a shift diff for ANYTHING. They are in the business of reducing/cutting/taking AWAY not giving, especially if they really don't need to. Does anyone here actually get a CMT differential or know that there is one? Do you think it is actually worth it? I hate ADHI but I do like to EAT and with these pay cuts, that is getting harder to do! Please, no bashers of the CMT, I've heard it all. I KNOW ...

I didn't see a cost differential for difficult dictators in the new plan? Did anyone else? So you can work day shift with the lowest tier and have the crappiest dictator around but still get lowest pay. And isn't it lovely that the new rate will be on the Dec. 26 paycheck?
