I was told by my supervisor they did not, however, their hiring ads say they do.
Nuance - Shift Differential
[ In Reply To ..]
Am an ex Webbie that was bought out by Nuance. We were told no shift differential and reduced holiday pay (I think it is 25% additional of your pay for that day but don't quote me). :o(
yes there is. - mt2

They pay a night differential from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. I'm on 2nd shift, which I hate by the way, and after 10 p.m. I get a little more money. Makes up for the slow editing crap. I average about $150 extra each pay day.
MT2, what do you mean by "slow editing"? If work types, - what slow types do see you see more of? NM
third shift 0.46 is what I read from a current - Nuance employee.

But unless you work third shift its 0.41 cpl for VR, not sure about their typing cpl.
Again I read this on here posted by a Nuance employee, I dont work there.
I mean me mostly. - mt2

I've been a MT for 25 years but this is my first experience with editing. Not a fan. I'll admit, sometimes I get a few jobs and can zip through them but then I'll get several that would be fastest and easier to just type them. And my arms feel better at the end of my shift BUT I still don't like editing. Maybe if they paid more for it. It's not as easy as they think. You really have to look over the entire document.
Know just what you mean, MT2. It is more intense, - more tiring. Thanks for answering. NM

They just bought out Transcend who does NOT pay shift diff. You might want to wait and see how that transaction finalizes before asking questions.
that fall during the shift. For example, if half of your hours fall in 3rd shift and half fall in 1st shift, do the 3rd shift hours pay more cpl? Or, do all hours have to fall within the shift to qualify?
Thanks,
Yet another sad Transcend employee... ...
I'm considering leaving a first shift hourly position for a 2nd shift hourly position at a diffferent company. What would you say is a fair shift differential between 1st and 2nd shift when talking hourly pay? Thanks in advance for any thoughts. ...
I have been working third shift for quite a wihile and must say sometimes I don't like it. My husband and I are trying for our second child and I have been wondering if a half cent more is really worth working a shift like this.
Out of curiosity, how much do you all get for working third shift?
Thanks! Have a wonderful Memorial Day. ...
Does Transcend offer a shift differential for 3rd shift? Does anyone know how the work flow is on third shift? I know a lot of people are not happy there so please do not flame me for asking, I just want some information. Also do they pay a production incentive and an extra amount for CMT? Thanks in advance. ...
has been talking about below. Neither did other MTs in my region. I wonder why we did not get that email. I work days, nevertheless, am curious as to why it wasn't sent to everyone. ...
I think I may have spoken too soon when I said they basically got rid of it. Math is definitely not my thing, but after studying it further, isn't it basically the same?
It says,
An additional $0.0075 per line or $0.09 per report for work transcribed between the hours of: (and then it gives the different hours for each time zone).............
Isn't that what it was before? And the .09 cents per report, is this for radiology reports? ??? ...
Does Nuance pay night shift differential? Finding any info about pay and benefits for Nuance is next to impossible?
If they do pay differential, does anyone know what it is?
Thank you. ...
Kinda confused about the shift differential and how it works. I worked about 2.5 hours before the 6:00 a.m cutoff. I did 1008 lines today in that amount of time. Do I take the 1008 and multiply it by my shift differential amount and then subtract that 1008 from the total lines for the day, or is the shift differential "extra" in our pay? Really don't have a clue how to figure this and I work these hours everyday. Would like to know before the first paychec ...
Is the differential for late work shown as a separate line item on the paystubs? I'm not sure if I'm getting paid for it. Just seeking info. Troll away if you like. ...
I start work at 0500 and always have had at least 1 hour of night shift differential for each day I worked. It amounts to pretty much next to nothing money wise, but I would still like to know without having to wait on an answer from CCM. tia ...
I was wondering for you all working at Synernet and working third shift, is the shift differential decent? I was recently laid off from my job of several years and nervous about having to start over elsewhere. I was making a decent wage at my last job, but of course due to downsizing lost my job. This company "seems" to sound good, but don't they all at some point?
Thank you in advance, and if you don't feel like posting on the board, just message me.

Just recently started with Nuance and am in Pacific Time. Can anyone tell me if the shift differential is paid if you work 4-12 Eastern time or is it paid based on you working actually 4-12 in your time zone?
Thanks

Screwance has a posting listed in MTJobs for a transcriptionist with 1 year of experience; however, under qualifications and requirements, they list 5+ years of recent transcription experience; let's do the math. They also list a $1000 bonus for 3rd shift (8 PM start or later) - another lie since their 3rd shift is 12:01 AM to 5:59 AM. No one ever sees a sign-on bonus; their stipulations are you must qualify for their dishonest metric system that even MTs with 20 years' exper ...
Recruiter told me they are hiring for all shifts. So, I picked first shift but before I go ahead and do this just want to make sure there is actually work during the first shift. After working nights for 7 years, I am afraid of running out of work just because I want first shift! ...
Please don't discourage me from applying to Nuance. I just lost my job today and I need a job BAD! Plus, I've only got two semesters of college left before I graduate and move out of this field. Anyway, can someone tell me what 2nd shift hours are? And I'm curious to know when most of you work.
Thanks ...
I've been offered an in-house MT position that I am not passing up. It is night shift 10 pm to 6 am. I've never worked a night shift ever. How should I transition into working nights? Anyone have any tips for working this shift? ...
I am moving to the 3-11 shift to help my supervisor out (I actualy like mine) and the hours are ok for me. However, does anyone know if there is a pay differential? I can't seem to find anything in my policies ...
Hi, everyone:
I see here and there some companies state they pay a differential for CMT status. Anyone out there who knows which companies do so and whether they actually follow through/and or what the differential is? I got my CMT a couple of years ago and then, for several reasons, stopped working as an MT, but I am considering going back part-time. Thanks! Geedub ...
Of course it is late Friday night when I am trying to figure out if it would be worth it to study and sit for the CMT--and I can't find a specific amount for the WMX CMT differential to do my quick and dirty calculations. :)
Anyone out there know how much they offer? Or at least where they specifically state what amount is given? ...
Last holiday (Labor Day) I was paid a differential. It is usually time and a half so going by your base you will see an additional line on your paystub of holiday lines: ex. if your base rate is 0.08 you will see holiday pay 0.1200 x 1000 lines. As far as I know, we have not received any notification that we do not get holiday pay. ...
The current extra for a report, for the night differential is .0900 per my understanding - can someone tell me what it was before the most recent change (approx. 2 mos ago or so)?
Thanks
