My average audit score is 99.9%. It's okay if people are negative. I am staying positive, and grateful.
But the question is - how did you sit still for 8 hours?

That seems to be the bane of long-term MTs everywhere. As a matter of fact, anybody who knows anything about ergonomics and what is good for the body generally, says that it is not a good idea. Still yet, it is absolutely necessary to get high production numbers consistently. Whatever you did, congrats and I hope you can keep it up. An inspiration you are.
Honestly, it just happens that way sometimes - A good day looks like

I don't get up and do other things (like laundry, loading dishwasher, etc), the dictators I am getting are the "good" ones, I am not checking MTStars....those days I can sit and really get work done. Yesterday, I strayed a little, but managed to get over 1500 lines. I just have to make myself "work" when I am working. Stop answering the phone, turn off the TV, only open IE to look up words, etc. I wish us all luck. It can get so hard to stay focused, especially when there is no one there with us to hold us accountable. Good luck to all of us!
If its SR work, still not 100 bucks. sad - #notimpressed
I'm just starting a new job and I'm not sure but I think they said 562.5 lines per shift and I'll only be working 3-hour shift. Again I'm not sure but think she said 5625 lines per payperiod. I know I should've paid closer attention when we were talking but I was trying to write down everything she said and I know I missed some and these line counts was one of them. After the weekend is over, I'll call and double check on things. I just didn't want to wait ...
Does any one have any requirements for editing for an 8-hr shift? I know for straight typing is usually required to type 1200-1500. Thanks in advance. ...
...a full day of lines. W-T-F? Umm, doesn't that hourly pay compensate for the lines you lose while training on YOUR time? Jesus Christ lady - how much can you milk it? ...
Am doing QA on a report where dictator stated the patient was placed on a 2200-kilocalorie diet.
I'm not a mathematician, but wouldn't that be somewhere in the range of 2,200,000 calories per day? She dictated it twice in the report. Can someone enlighten me?
Thank you. ...
The whole sentance is - Visual acuity without correction is 2400 in the right eye 2200 in the left with correction 20/30 bilaterally. Would that be 24/100 or 20/400 or just plain 2400. ...
I've been offered an in-house MT position that I am not passing up. It is night shift 10 pm to 6 am. I've never worked a night shift ever. How should I transition into working nights? Anyone have any tips for working this shift? ...
Does anybody know which column companies look at to decide if you are meeting the minimum 250 requirement in Escription? When I look at the metrics there are 2 columns...median lines per hour and average lines per hour. ...
if you make 4 cents per line at 1000 lines a day, they really calculate it at 500 lines per day x 4 cents, making it really 2 cents per line for the full 1000.
I heard this, and I am really interested in knowing if it is true. ...
My main account was a good one, and the lines were very good, mostly ER work. I have been on this account for over a year and a half now. We recently received an e-mail stating that Nuance had discovered that the line count was charging incorrectly, as instituted by them, and they had been crediting us with MORE lines than we were actually doing and overcharging the client.
Now get this, they informed us that they would not make US pay it back, for their mistake, but that our new lines would re ...
What do you do when you have the required hours but are short lines?
I got an email that I need to "make plans to have my shortage made up." The only problem is that I'm up to date with my hours for the pay period so far. The other problem is that I have plans Saturday night and Sunday (both being my scheduled time off) that don't include TransTech.
It's getting harder and harder to defend this company when they can't hold up their end of the agreement and continually ...
Just wondering if the TT MTs would like share ... how many lines do you average during the day/week? I'm doing about 9,000 to 10,000 a week and wonder if I should be pushing myself more. How much of your count is VR? I do probably 15% traditional and 85% VR but that, of course, varies week to week. ...
How many lines do you average per day - VR and traditional? I know it's been VERY slow lately, but when things are going well, how many lines do you normally get? I'm trying to figure out where the average numbers are. For me, I do about 350 trad and about 1400 VR in 8 hours. Well, my timesheet says 8 hours, but my clock says that number MAY(!) be a little higher. Again, these are numbers I pull when things are going well and I'm not waiting for work to download.

Thinking of going back FT and quitting my current day job, but it isn't always easy to get on days. (I know the work flow tends to be spread out a little thinner day shift.) ...
Saw the ad elsewhere. Are these companies nuts?! I hope nobody takes that pay. That's equivalent to 1 cpl as an employee with benes FOR QA WORK! I get so frustrated reading some of these ads with such horrible pay. ...
I was wondering if it's really worth it to work the 3rd shift? Does the additional CPL really make that much of a difference. Does the workload stay steadier during that time? I've been offered a 3rd shift part-time job, but just don't know if it's worth revamping my entire day to work this late. Would anybody working this shift let me know how it works out as far as sleep, daytime errands, etc.? ...
I see job ads for First Shift, Second Shift, etc., and modified shifts, and I am not sure exactly what periods of time these are.
I figure they are specific hours of the day - like day, swing, graveyard shifts - but what are the hours, generally?
I have only worked as an IC with TAT. I am considering applying for some of the employee status jobs but need to clarify what these shifts are.
Thank you. ...
I thought I just got booted but logged back in no jobs will load so this means OOW.. already.. I just logged on for my shift.. NOT GOOD AND NOT HAPPY!!!! I believe I am in the South region. ...
Would anyone happen to know which company has a 2nd shift besides MModal or Nuance? I see a lot of ads for 1st or 3rd, but due to family obligations I need 2nd shift. Straight typing or speech - MT or QA (have done both). Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. ...
Has anyone applied for these jobs? She has had the ad for quite some time I see up there. Does anyone know the name of the company? I am looking for something part time, but don't know if I should even bother. ...
Totally unhappy with current company, but do love my shift. Most jobs advertised are for 2nd and 3rd shift. Anyone know of companies that would hire for very early morning or possible split shifts? Too old at this time to think about trying night shift, but could do some evenings. Don't mind weekends at all.
Any info helpful. TIA ...
I was just curious if there is any correalation between working 2nd shift and being unable to get to sleep at night? I have been having trouble sleeping lately and wondering if it could be due to the fact that I have been staying on later typing? Wondering if its making it harder for me to sleep because its taking so long for my brain to unwind?
Anyone else have this problem? Advice appreciated. Thanks!

About 1/3 of those 100% QA reports were done by ILPs. Total average earnings per hour: a little over 4 $, but I will be paid at my state's minimum wage. Before my in-house hospital job was outsourced to an MTSO that kept the work in the country for 2 years and then sent it to India, I was being paid 19 $ an hour and also had great benefits and PTO. When did this "profession" turn into a minimum wage job ? (actually, half of minimum wage if ...
