QA for 3 cpl as an IC on 3rd shift... - sm

Saw the ad elsewhere. Are these companies nuts?! I hope nobody takes that pay. That's equivalent to 1 cpl as an employee with benes FOR QA WORK! I get so frustrated reading some of these ads with such horrible pay.

No time to "goof off" and don't have to wait for work to show up in QA, usually swamped, not only from covering several accounts and platforms but also from full-QA dictators and often full-QA MTs. If we should run out of work, which is maybe 4 times a year, then we are responsible for doing audits. We also have to maintain a minimum number of QA'd reports and audits. There's plenty of work, so if the minimum number isn't maintained, it IS from goofing off instead of working. Then we'd be fired, I'm sure.

Speak for yourself. I work darned hard at what I do and take pride in the fact that I do a good job. When I run out of QA work (rarely) I roll up my sleeves and help transcribe.

Just because you had no work ethic only speaks to your shortcomings. Don't try to make yourself feel better by lumping us all into that sorry statement.

IF you can even listen through 3000 lines and make changes in 8 hours.

2000 lines=$60. = $7.50 hr.
Can make more at Jack-in-Box and not need nearly the skill with ongoing updating of skills to keep up with ALLLL specialities.

And some QA must do multiple platforms and acct specific, plus send changes to the MT. Phooooo eeeeee.

Totally unhappy with current company, but do love my shift. Most jobs advertised are for 2nd and 3rd shift. Anyone know of companies that would hire for very early morning or possible split shifts? Too old at this time to think about trying night shift, but could do some evenings. Don't mind weekends at all. Any info helpful. TIA ...

I have been working third shift for about three months and am still having some trouble getting used to it. My question is do you work your shift then go to sleep or do you stay up until later in the afternoon and then sleep until your shift starts. many of us will be reassigned to 2nd or 3rd shift. If you are assigned and do not comply, you will be considered as having resigned. So sorry for the rant, but I am so tired of companies wanting us all to cover third shift, but don't want to pay anything extra when we do and if they do it's something like a quarter of a penny, what in the world is that? I know I shouldn't complain, but this shift is HARD to work, especially when you have little ones. I was so so tired (cause I"m moving) yesterday, I couldnt keep my eyes open and had to take an hour break to sleep.
