i'm devastated. forget bills, they don't need to be paid, right? much less food that doesn't need to be bought.

For the last 2 weeks. Ever since I was moved with my primary to another group. I was told I would have MORE jobs if I moved with the group. Hahahaha. Sure!

Does anyone know if once you open a ticket if you are allowed to check back later to see if there is work? I would ask CCM but can't get ahold of her.

What time do you usually work? I'm in the north and have found that working around 4 - 5 a.m. gets me work regularly. Then I take a nap and carry on with the day, then around the same time in the p.m. get work again. This works for me, got kids home for summer. Anyway just a thought. Also, call your RTL! They are SUPPOSE to find the work for you, even outside of your BOB! Get on that phone! Good luck!

I hear ya. Last week, I had 3 days in a row that I ran out of work before noon. I work days and have been with MQ for a long time, but now am unable to pay bills, etc. Don't know what I'm going to do. Am in early 60's. Have not sent out a resume or interviewed for a job in YEARS...don't even know how any more. I've tried to contact my CCM; however, with no e.mail in 2 weeks or so, and now she is not answering her phone, goes straight to voice mail, that's really hard to do. Oh well, something has to give. End of rant for now. Everyone have a good evening. I'm outta here.

If your CCM doesn't answer your calls why don't you call someone else? I don't understand why ppl wouldn't keep calling numbers until they got a hold of someone. Isn't there a list of numbers of ppl you can call beside the CCM? There is a chain of command and if your CCM isn't answering calls, I'd lodge a complaint and call your RTL.

I hope you do and I hope you can get you some work. None of us need to struggle to pay the bills when we are employed.

I don't understand the passivity and acceptance, either, to be honest. I'll be doggoned if I'm gonna NOT be able to pay my bills because my CCM won't call me. I'd go straight over her head after about email #2.

Tootired, do not take this sitting down...go above her head and get yourself some work. Who cares about her feelings when you have bills to pay.

every other report is tragic? Tonight I just want to quit, so depressing. I hate doing child death reports, alcohol-involved MVAs where someone dies, drug overdoses where the person dies, attempted suicide, severe brain damage/paralysis from fall, all in one shift, all young people!! It seems that every dictator tonight has made some sort of mistake or said something that doesn't seem right (mg/mcg, right/left, dates, names, age, etc.) that required extra research through past reports (if your lucky they have some) to get correct information? Or where the residents make you want to beat your head against the wall because they cannot pronounce half the stuff their field exposes them to? Today I had a 35 minute report by one of the worst dictators. On top of that her phone line is really bad. I did the best I could and ended up sending the report to QA. QA was able to fill in about half of the blanks that I had. I ended up sending an e-mail to my supe to see if anything could be done about her phone line, and if she could please listen to the report. For some unknown reason my footpedal just decides to stop working this morning and I spend hours to get it going again. I finally get back into my groove, only to get a dictation that is 29 minutes long with only 4 minutes of actual dictating! I can never get ahead and get a decent line count anymore. You actually looked forward to getting the PA instead of the doctor because they were so much easier to hear, understand, etc., except for the fact that most of them have no clue when it comes to pronouncing medications and feel that it is above them to spell the medication out.
