Ever have one of those days where you just do not care. - mom2huskies

Posted: Jul 21, 2010

Just having one of those days where I just don't care anymore, they can just go ahead and fire me.

yes - yesterday I felt so beat down

[ In Reply To ..]
I worked for 2 hours, then went back to bed for awhile, then tried to hit it again.

I keep hitting a brick wall every day.

me too - anon

I felt the same as you guys yesterday. Strange how it happened to all three of us on the same day. They say it comes in 3s, so now maybe it is gone forever! May God bless you!

My second, full-time job is poodles - Reason to be happy

[ In Reply To ..]
Because of all of these pay cuts at MQ I find I'm relying more and more on the income of my poodles. I don't want to live off them solely, but can easily see the difference in loving what I do (my poodles) and hating what I do (MQ). My poodles are a lot of work but they drown me with unconditional love, which is so nice given the stress at MQ.

YES! EVERY TIME I GET ON TO WORK - AND..... NO JOBS AVAILABLE.

[ In Reply To ..]
I had 10 hours last week and 12 hours the week before that. Supposed to be a total of 48 hours for 2 weeks.

DO NOT CARE ANYMORE. Seriously need to go to college this fall.

Anyone think they're trying to get us to quit so.. - vickypage

[ In Reply To ..]
they can say we quit and deny us unemployment?

I think that all the time! - See message below

A few years ago, I worked days FINALLY. It did not last long because I did not have work. Before CBAY bought us out, I had no jobs. Then I was told by my CCM that I would have all kinds of jobs on my primary if I went back to evenings and so I did. I then began to really HATE evenings. I mean, 20 years of it, plus I worked weekends when there was an incentive. I ended up getting switch to a new CCM (what else is new). I asked to go back to days, but could not. I am now switched AGAIN to another CCM and now they are trying to get me to work weekends because not only did I switch to evenings WHICH I DESPISE to have work, I NOW HAVE NO WORK. So it is either no work or work weekends.

I am going to try that TAA thing. I am supposed to have 60 hours on my paycheck, last week? 24 hours total.

I refuse to look elsewhere because CBAY will buy up all the companies soon. It is their NEW GOAL NOW and they are going full speed ahead now then ever since the merge with Spheris. I read the article posted on this board.

ALL I WANT TO DO IS GO BACK TO SCHOOL TO DO SOMETHING ELSE and I think MQ should pay for it. Why? I HAVE NO WORK and I am working when I am supposed too. If I work weekends, my husband will throw a fit because I have already done that in the past and he did not like it. We had to go to counseling over it because of communication problems. We were never together because of it.
Just put my resume in - mom2huskies

I know how you feel. As far as weekends, I do not mind working weekends as long as the pay is fair. It does make a difference though when you have family at home. Do they have you work both Saturday and Sunday?

Today, I finally decided to start looking at other companies. I tested for one company, and so far I have passed. I am also considering another company, they are presently looking at my resume. The only thing is I would have to work a split shift.

Thought they were trying to get me to quit for 2 years now...nm - enigma

Sadly, its what the ENTIRE INDUSTRY is doing. - Too bad! Theyre gonna have to fire me.

[ In Reply To ..]
And THEN I plan to make their lives a living h___, just like they've been doing to me and all the rest of us for the last decade. See how THEY like it.

Their plan - FormerMT

[ In Reply To ..]
These people know exactly what the stress level must be on all of you still left at MQ. They are coming at you from all angles; less money, cheap threats to fire you, finding more and more reasons to fail you on audits, etc. They want you out, but they want you to quit. I held on as long as I could and finally left. The burden that was lifted from my shoulders can't be put into words. I hate to use the word HATE, but I HATE MQ, truly.

Ive been having that exact same day every day - for the last 5 years! More Prozac, please!

Hours used to be 9 AM to 5:30 PM, 5 days a week, for about $2300/month net.

Now, it's deteriorated to 10 AM to 2 AM (only get to write down 8 hrs, of course!), 6 days a week, sometimes 7. All for about $1000/month net.

The work is harder. I've gone from about 45-50 doctors to several hundred, and from 1 account to 4.

Healthcare used to have simply $20 copayments, that was it. Hospitalization was covered 100%. Now, they only pay for about 1/3 of that. Have to pay a minimum $250/year out of pocket "copay", before I even qualify for the $50 copays. The answer? Simple. Avoid going to the doctor.

Incentives (back when they were actually offered) used to be REAL. Now all an "incentive" is, is a "chance" for a drawing for a $50 gift certificate, IF you have worked your full 40 hours, have 99% accuracy, and have met or exceeded your line minimum. Needless to say, I delete those "CASH REWARDS!!!" emails without even reading them anymore. They're too depressing.

These jerks who *claim* to be our superiors must believe that we have a money tree in our backyards or something, to make up for the huge gap between what we're worth, and what we should be making, (or even what we USED to be making), and what we're making now.

May all the greedy shysters die slowly, in the utmost agony, and go straight to Hades.

Ever Have Days That You Just Don't Care. This Is One

of those days that I regret ever having gone to work for Transcend who later sold out to Nuance.  Never have I dreaded getting up in the morning and going to work like I do now.  VR is a train wreck; it never learns, adds things that are not even close to what was said, adds things that weren't said, etc.  FIESA is a big, fat joke.  Nuance is a pain in the patukas.  Sorry, just needed to let it all out.  ...

Another Sad Option For Medical Care Is Charity Care. Work With The People
Nov 06, 2014

...bills. Most Saint hospitals and others actually operate as non-profits, and for what they are screwing us over in taxes unpaid, they can afford to help out folks with their bills and still give their CEOs generous stock options and obscene salaries! But, you have to ask for this after your visit, treatment, x-ray, or ER visit. ASK for help if you need it. It is not our fault that suits are in charge of medical care in this country.  ...

Ever Have One Of Those Days, Where It Seems All The
Feb 15, 2011

It seems that every dictator tonight has made some sort of mistake or said something that doesn't seem right (mg/mcg, right/left, dates, names, age, etc.) that required extra research through past reports (if your lucky they have some) to get correct information?  Or where the residents make you want to beat your head against the wall because they cannot pronounce half the stuff their field exposes them to?  Sure, a handful a day is expected, but there are some days where it' ...

Low Pay For MTs These Days
Apr 21, 2011

I am in quite a quandy right now.  I have been out of work as an MT now for 3 months due to a layoff.  I started off in this field 15 years ago earning 11 cents a line for a transcription company.  My last job paid me 9 cents a line.  Now I am looking to find a part-time job and I can't find anything over 8 cents a line.  Doesn't experience matter anymore or is the transcription field pay rate getting lower and lower all the time?  I am shocked, because fo ...

One Of Those Days.
May 04, 2011

Today I had a 35 minute report by one of the worst dictators. On top of that her phone line is really bad. I did the best I could and ended up sending the report to QA. QA was able to fill in about half of the blanks that I had. I ended up sending an e-mail to my supe to see if anything could be done about her phone line, and if she could please listen to the report. Less than a minute later she e-mailed my back stating that she could hear the report just fine. My question is, how can it take le ...

just above any profession but this one looks good.  Back-to-back ESL who gets on late at night, dictates report after report after report, marks them all priority even though they may be for admissions/discharges from 2-3 months ago.  He's horrible to listen.  Talks so softly sometimes he can barely be heard.  Flies through lab results, etc.  And, I think I'm the primary transcriptionist on this account.  I have literally begged to have this account t ...

Anyone Else Always Have Days Like This?
Aug 02, 2011

For some unknown reason my footpedal just decides to stop working this morning and I spend hours to get it going again. I finally get back into my groove, only to get a dictation that is 29 minutes long with only 4 minutes of actual dictating! I can never get ahead and get a decent line count anymore. There is always something that comes up to keep my production down and shrink my paycheck. I wish we were compensated fairly for times when a dictator keeps the phone on for 28 minutes without ...

Good Ol' Days
