My old manager (LC) informed me via telephone last week about the whole POD thing and how I'd be getting a new manager, etc., etc. She said she was going to be the person who now does alll the Teamwork stuff. She LIED. Bold faced lied to me (and about 100 of you). She is not moving over. She's moving out. She probably did it to save face, not have to answer a gazillion questions, etc. but now I just feel betrayed. 100% betrayed. So in an answer to questions about how they decide which managers to fire...seniority wins. LC was only here for less than 3 years. I hate being lied to more than anything.
Mine has been here only 2 years - and she is staying.

[ In Reply To ..]Ummm she is on my accounts doing PTO and time sheets. She approved my PTO and corrected an error on my time sheet when I couldn't get in to clock in. I was told part of the accounts are going to one team while the big volume our team had she was staying with others being added to it. I am assuming the managers are the same as us, no choice in where they are sent or what accounts they get either.

This is a very impersonal field of work and always will be, which is why the managers rot so bad. You can't form a "personal" relationship over a computer. They do it for a reason, you and I and every single one of us is replaceable. It seems like they hire and fire at will around here, much easier if you don't know the person you are firing. Way way way back on my first go round with this company, my boss and I clicked and spoke on the phone off work and became friends. I was new to the field and still learning. I noticed work slowing down and NJA often. She called me one day and said that is what they do, they want you to leave voluntarily, if you don't, your on the chopping block, start looking for other work before they pull the rug from under you. Appreciate that call, I found another job but stupidly came back after that company went under..She has since been fired as well.

She told me last week that each TSM had a choice given to them - stay on board in a lesser-paying position or take a severance and part ways - and that 99% of them decided not to stay.

I did not blame the company I worked for for selling out to Transcend as I figured they were told the same thing we were told, which was that nothing would change and their transcriptionists would be treated fairly. I type a lot of crap, but just had the worst doc I think I ever had. Had 11 QA markers so I sent it to QA thinking they might actually LIKE getting some work since they are about to be history. Anyways, this bi*ch marked 2 CRITICAL ERRORS and did an audit on it (which was still 96.5% in spite of everything I am glad to say). QA you wonder why we have such a bad attitude? I spend a lot of time typing for a huge university hospital clinic with no ADT. Have to type in all patient information. Almost every report is a LETTER. Referring physician has to be typed into the ADT. Then the letter recipient information has to be typed in and lo and behold have to re-type it into the cc list for the doc to get a copy of the letter. I wonder why I can't run a decent line count? Don't you just hate it when you've got a dictation that is so fraught with static, and it sounds like the dictator is 100 miles away from the phone, but you actually can make out the words, just barely, and you'd love to leave all blanks because it's such a chore to hear any of it, but you can't, of course, because you can make it out? Several of these in a row is enough to make me want to punch my computer! (or eat lots of chocolate!) ...

I am to the point of "Ugh do I really have to work tonight". They fail you on audits for the stupist of things, nothing below 97 for me, but there are so many CPs with different rules. I've been an MT since 2000. Each year I see my pay go down. I've been with 2 big MT companies now and it seems like they are very similar in regard to the fact that they like to screw over their MTs.
