Gee doc...can you mumble any faster? - what a day

Im used to this once in a while,,but the majority of them are doing it today,,,or Im going deaf..

And the 7.1 speech has gone to helena - hand basket lately

Would be laughable if not so sad what some of the ASR puts lately. Total nonsense garbage.

I was once told they will not outsource radiology and ASR or us is terrible. Why put end-plate in a sentence and 2 sentences later put endplate? Or disc and disk all through the report. I go and do a find and replace, but with all the other changes, all this stuff takes time. I had a sentence last night that ASR put in and I had to rewind to be sure I was in the right place. It totally did not make sense, words were not even close to what the doc said.

One of the doctors on my VR account, just mumbles his ENTIRE report every single time. I mean, why would he do this when he KNOWS someone is having to transcribe it? Perhaps he doesn't understand the concept of VR and doesn't realize that I receive this report full of complete nonsense, but even if he didn't, if you are SPEAKING and KNOWING that you expect a report out of this, why would you mumble the entire report? It feels to me like a lack of disrespect, but ...

I know the "push" is to use the shortcuts but it takes me twice as long to remove my hands from the keyboard to reach the arrow keys and alt+shift or ctrl+shift than to just click where I want to go with the mouse. I was just wondering if it's worth it to retrain myself to use those particular shortcuts. I tried creating my own but they will not work in our system. The other ones we have are fine but the cursor ones stink. ...

Wondering if anyone has been able to find a way to make M-Modal go faster or if it is just hopeless. The software can be extremely slow and bogs down a lot, especially if you increase the speed or choose to optimize the playback to skip over blank spots (dictator not talking) in the dictation. I have been straight transcribing for many moons. Then got into doing QA and a lot of the reports I get are straight editing of speech recognition rather than doing QA. My production stinks when I do straight editing and have no idea how those of you that edit speech recognition all day make a living. Kudos to YOU!
