Fuzzy dictations today - am I the only one? - cr

Almost all the dictations are coming through so muffled, I can't tell "S" from "F" and not even sure I'm hearing TIA correctly, which you'd think would be obvious. The dictators themselves are okay, but the quality of the sound is really bad.

Have reported some to manager. Not hoping the sound will get better any time soon. The dictators and facilities do NOT care. Trying to find a way that I do not stress over it so much. As of yet, that has not happened.

time working on the horrific audio problems rather than making unnecessary tweaks to Fluency.

I got sick and tired of having back to back sound issues so every time I get a job where the sound is static or muffled and the like, I send a report to tech using the feature when you have uploaded a job on the right hand corner where it says "report problem." All I put is poor quality sound/poor audio

I finish up. Hopefully after a while tech will get the pic that the audio for Fluency or from the client themselves is questionable and needs to be fixed.

on the log out screen up at the top right hand says "time sheet, line count, report problem..."

I do not believe that report a problem button pertains - to a particular job.

That button is to report a problem with your own computer system in general. It does not attach a file of the job you just did.

Uploaded the report..I do leave a QA note on the actual job though, along with all the blanks. They may as well know why I left them.

I've never thought of that, but I'm going to start doing that. I've been writing down job #'s and sending an email to our performance coach and that takes time that we're not compensated for. Most of the time never hear anything is being looked into.

Have you gotten any responses from tech regarding the reports?

I have been typing some of the same physicians' work for years -- one in particular sounds like he is dictating while deep sea fishing. What makes you think it helps to send an e-mail to your PC? It just puts a target on your back, and while I am sure this is far from true, it just says to them you are a complainer and you cannot do your job properly. Hit the dislike button all you want, but complaining about any dictator just works against you.

I just received my March report, graded at 99.3% and the accepted standard is 99.6%. There were 5 audited reports - 3 @ 100%, 1 @ 99.75% and 1 @ 99.3% which was the last one. My March report said I averaged 99.3% and need to improve quality, proofread, ADT screen, dates, labs and so on. Problem is, one missed comma gave me the 99.3% score. For the past 2 days, I have been on an account with very short dictations - clinic notes that average between 7 and 30 lines. I am making less than minimum wage - it takes a certain amount of time just to do the ADT info and of course they are all ESL doctors. I don't have a primary and I certainly hope this account doesn't end up as my primary. Anyone have any tips on how to make money on these short little dictations? ...

Why is it that not taken into the equation of our pay is the fact that most residents, PAs, CNP, CNM, etc., do not pronunciate, have correct grammar, or the fact that they just don't dictate adequately in general? Seriously, I wonder if there is a way to record these dictations. I would LOVE to hear for myself the "errors" QA/QC are always finding and putting into Fiesa. The fact that we are not provided with proof of these "errors" really concerns me. Please Nuance bigwigs, prove to me that QA/QC isn't making things up or hearing things wrong. I think all dictations at Nuance should be partial dictation worktype. Wtih "partial dictations, you don't have to do as much checking of demographics, figuring out date of service and filling that in, etc., and not having to pend and leave comments so mcuh. I notice I'm about 75 lines faster an hour when it's partial dictations because there's less outside-the-report activity to be done. This is extra activity we dont' even get paid for. At my company (a smaller one) there are a lot of mistakes in the normal dictations that the doctors request. The way they are created in the first place is the transcriptionist types up the report and sends it to QA saying the doctor would like to use this in the future for his normal, but I don't think they get reviewed by QA. Worked as an IC 20+ years. Now having to work for a service. The account I do rarely has a dictation longer than one minute. It takes It takes a LOT longer to research, log demographics than it does to actually transcribe. At home I did 1200 to 1800 lines a day. With this account I can't even do one third of that! The doctors apparently have no idea that their MTs are in different parts of the US, that we have to research the spelling of doctor's names, counties, cities, faciliti ...

The WHOLE report didn't have three words consecutively that made the least bit of sense or had anything to do with what was dictated. "Fix" it? You gotta be kidding.
