Does M Modal still provide your computer ... - blondie

It doesn't say in the ad. I know they used to, just curious. I have my own computer to use, but wondering if they still send their own to you.

They told us ex-DSGers that they don't do that anymore. - nm

I was told last week that they normally don't send you equipment unless it's a takeover (of course, that's not the way it was termed), so even though I had my own computer, I might want to take advantage of it now because it wouldn't be offered the equipment later. Maybe you could negogiate?

I got a computer from them when we were outsourced - and glad I did.

I have my own, but I figured it would be less of a headache to just take theirs and not have to worry about installing stuff etc.

Theirs came all ready to go.

I was just hired by them. They sent me a nice headset, the training manual, and a new foot pedal; but they no longer provide the computer.

So, is there a definitive answer? - See message...

I don't get it...does M*Modal supply the computer for some but not for others? Not sure how there can be polar opposite answers to a question that seems black-and-white to me...but maybe it's a gray area with M*Modal(?).

I use an MModal computer but maybe I'm "grandfathered"? - anon

I've been an employee for 16 years and have never used my own computer to work on. Anytime there is an upgrade of computer needed they just send me a new one, no questions asked. It could be they are just doing this for old-timer employees like me and they are trying to get away from issuing equipment to new employees.

then I asked my CCM if I could request an MModal computer. She said it had to be approved, which it was within 2-3 hours, and it was shipped to me that very day by 3-day ground UPS and I got it on Thursday morning. I had it set up right away and was able to make up all the time I had lost by the end of that payperiod, which was the following Saturday. I was sooooo grateful. My CCM was right on top of it. So, definitive answer, ask for it and you will probably get it. I did. Plus this all happened just 3-4 weeks ago.

I'm just talking about employees here, not ICs. It amazes me that as a company employee, we would not be provided the most important tool we need to work with all set up to company specs, loaded with company s/w.
