Health insurance, ugh - mt

Health insurance being dependent upon line account, even when they don't give you enough work, is a sham.

it's a sham, a ruse, and it is most certainly done on purpose.
I would urge you and every other MT to report it to the state insurance commissioner and the department of labor with documentation of your production and lack of work.

I am strictly asking opinions here and input. Say a small transcription company has group health insurance and wanted to expand. This service has her own accounts and has access to several more accounts with plenty of work, or the other MT can bring in her own accounts separately. They would both pay their own share of the healthcare plan, which is three quarters of the price of individual health plans and includes dental. That MT could either work and be paid for the new accounts and/or work on her own accounts she already has. If that MT does have her own accounts, that would be hers alone and has access to additional work if needed, like a partnership. Is that viable?
Hey folks. Does anyone know of a group health insurance coverage I can get even with preexisting issues? My company doesn't offer it. I've thought of switching companies but all the other ones sound so awful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ...
I am considering becoming self employed (after a fashion) as an IC. I have gone onto www.healthcare.gov and gone through the steps they advise when you want to take out private insurance. Holy cow, the insurance plans offered varied in premium cost from $600 to $4000 per month for a family of 4, but the thing that got me was two items: Maximum out of pocket for individual: 0$. Annual deductible for individual: 0$. Woohoo. This just seems too good to be true.&n ...
Does anyone know if my employer can force me to buy the company-sponsored insurance? I can't afford it any longer, so I want to drop it for the upcoming enrollment. Last year, there was a sheet that stated something like this: Opt out only with proof of coverage elsewhere and attach a copy of insurance card. ...
Could anyone tell me what they paid for health insurance in 2014 through Nuance for you and your spouse and also what you are paying in 2015?
Also, could someone tell me what they paid for the health insurance for 2014 and 2015 for just themselves?
I couldn't afford to take the insurance and I'm trying to figure out if it was more than 8% of my income so I can avoid paying the tax penalty. I don't think it was for just me, but I think with my husband added on it might h ...
I've always had my own health insurance. I didn't want to get stuck with whatever plan my employer happened to offer, and I didn't want to worry about losing my insurance if I changed jobs.
But now the company I'm with is getting out of the insurance business, and I need to find new coverage. The company I work for offers insurance, but like I said above, I don't want their plan. And since they offer it, I'm not eligible for ACA (and I don't ...
Can anybody tell me what kind of health insurance plan Transtech has? Is it HMO, PPO, . . or do they have different plans to choose from? I'm also very interested to know how much it is and how much the deductible would be. I'm 51 years old, so good health benefits is very important to me. Also, I would appreciate any feedback on abt other companies out there with great health insurance. Thank's! ...
With this new healthcare reform, does this mean that outsourcing companies are going to have to provide health insurance to MTs? Even though you may be an independent contractor, you still work for the company. With these oursourcing companies, I sure hope they will be required to offer health insurance, even if they MTs dont or cannot meet the line requirements. This should be a very interesting concept to know about when the healthcare reform is in place! I always thoug ...
I want to take the plunge and try to find a different job but I want to keep my toe in the door here to see if I can find something better. However, I cannot afford to be without insurance. Can you get bennies working 32 hours a week? 24? ...
To those of you who desperately need insurance now, here is a great place to look for temporary insurance. If you eventually find out that COBRA is not going to happen or LM jerks you around so long you miss the deadline, you can still qualify for Uninsurable Risk insurance depending on the State you live in. Some of these plans may even be cheaper than COBRA, which is something you might want to look into.
It is definitely worth your time to check this out instead of just wa ...
This is my first VR job. I cannot make enough lines to qualify for health insurance on it. This is the first time I have ever had this problem. I could easily exceed my line count with a straight typing job. The only way I could meet line count now is if I blaze through the jobs without proofreading and put out bad-quality jobs. I wouldn't even be able to get up to stretch my legs ever. I'd have to cut my lunch down to 30 minutes. And even then I'd be about 1000 to ...
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to DROP the health insurance? I can't make ends meet so I wanted to know if I could drop it and have additional money in my check

I just recently got MQ health insurance. I was wondering how it works since it is just a HSA and not a PPO or HMO. Do I bring my card with me and they swipe it and the payment comes directly from the insurance or do I pay and get a receipt and then have to submit the receipt with paperwork to United Healthcare for reimbursement? I have never used an insurance like this, if you can can it that. Thank you. ...
Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have heard this insurance plan (BC/BS?) does not cover primary care office visits until you reach a 2500 dollar deductible, no copay anymore, paying for the whole visit?? I thought all insurance companies had us pay a copay, not the whole cost of the office visit. What about prescriptions, do we pay the full price for them now too, or is it still about a 15 dollar copay? I am left wondering how they got this kind of insuranc ...
Transtech's ad does not specifically mention health insurance as part of their benefits package, does anyone know if they offer it? Thanks in advance. ...
Holding my breath to see what is going to happen with our insurance next week. Their statement "rates will stay the same for "2014" was made before we got switched to another insurance. Guess I'll get in line behind everybody else in the US who is getting screwed with their health insurance. ...
If Nuance does away with employee health insurance I see no reason to stay. Obamacare sux and I'm trying to avoid it. If the company throws us all to Obamacare exchanges they'll see a huge walk out I'm sure. ...
Am I understanding correctly from a previous post that if we have insurance with Nuance we are inelligible to go on the exchange site to get private health care? This policy with no co-pays makes it impossible to afford to go to a doctor's office. I feel I'm paying for a policy I really can't use. ...
I was wondering for all of you MTs who work full-time from home, what health insurance does your company provide you and your family with and how much do you pay out of pocket? I work for a company (will not mention the name) and pay $62 per pay period (for just me) which I didn't think was so bad - BUT i just found out I have a $3500 calender year deducible and will have to pay 35% of hospital fees if admitted (which I will be in 2010). So besides paying the $62 monthly, I will be paying $ ...
I am so sick of not making any money! I brought home about 16,400 this year and this is only my 5th year in MT, so I suppose that is okay... not really. I found out there are brand new MTs in my company making more then me! I was like come on now!!! Anyway, I have decided to make ends meat that I need to take another 8 hour job. So I will be working the dreaded 16 hour work day to make sure me and my 3 kids have a roof over our heads. I know I can do it, but i ...
Can anyone tell me about MedQuist's health insurance (for just me - I live in North Carolina)? I am afraid there is a hysterectomy in my future and I am really wondering how high the deductibles are and how much they pay after you've met them. I'd be eligible in August, I think.
So, someone ease my mind that it's better than the private policy I have right now where I pay $230 a month for a $3, 500 deductible with $3, 500 coinsurance and they pay 50% of sur ...
