Days not working schedule? - MIA

What constitutes missing scheduled shifts? I thought it was 3 days - now told its 2? I had internet connection problems and we all know how that is!! I called and LM on supv VM but she apparently SAYS she didnt get it and apparently now they have to answer to the "HIGHER UP SUITS" on why her direct reports did't work their shifts. She didn't even address the days I couldn't work -- it was all about clocking out 15 min. early weeks earlier -- really??? They're worried about 15 minutes?

You never just leave your supervisor a voicemail or email message when you're not going to be at work. That's pretty much rule #1 on absenteeism. And, yes, missing work due to Internet issues is still considered an absence.

If you don't speak to your supervisor personally on the first call, try and try again until you reach her. Never depend on voicemail or email to do that job for you.

Secondly, if you agreed to work 8 hours, then work 8 full hours. If 15 minutes isn't that big of a deal, then why not stay and work.

Seriously, with all of us MTs starving for work and you're just throwing away 15 minutes... read between the lines, honey!

my supervisor and she's not there, I leave a message and ask her to call me back. If I am sick or can't be there for some reason, I'm not going to spend all day trying to reach her. That is what voice mail is for. I also will email her. If you want to spend your day trying to get a hold of her, that's your right, but I'm certainly not.

If I have internet problems and miss 15 minutes, I'll make my 15 minutes up another day.

It's YOUR responsibility to connect with your supervisor, whether you feel like it or not. If she, for whatever reason, doesn't get your message, she can count it as a no-show, or at least an unexcused absence.

Read your employee handbook.

I stand by my comment about leaving 15 minutes early. You agree to work 8 hours, then you work 8 full hours.

Guess it depends on your CCM - ours says to

I stand by my comment about everything. My CCM and any other one I've had doesn't want you to keep calling and calling, send an email. If you miss 15 minutes, make it up another day. You can spend your time reading your handbook, did that many years ago when starting this company and don't care to again.

Yeah, first of all, it has been a policy you are allowed 15 either way for the start or end of your shift, unless they changed their rules. I do not read the policies every week to see what has changed, who has time? I for one have some health problems whereas once every 2 months or so I cannot even get my 8 hours in, I have to clock off a few times during my shift. Like there is a lot of work out there anyway.

As an exTranscender, I'm used to working over 8 hours to get in my minimum. We can't do this with Nuance (as I've found out) but curious of there is some leeway there. Well, after last thursday night such bad dictators and made no money--so just getting min wage, I finally retired 10 working days early. So sad when you can make more money working 25 hours a week in a grocery store as a customer service rep, cashier, and working on self-scans. Such a relief to get away from this company. Does anybody out there actually have a working swap board with a long schedule posted? I'm getting so frustrated with this supposedly wonderful tool for us to have. Can anyone answer a question about this new procedure? I want to swap a shift for next week but having trouble understanding this new process. I guess if you want to work a different shift on a particular day, you would first need to post yours and make sure someone takes it before you claim another as you might end up working both - correct? So, our CCM sent out an e-mail that she has received a directive that if we are not working our exact schedule, we are going to receive an oral warning and then be performance managed. If there is no work, we have to put in a Q-Care ticket or we will be performance managed. Remember when we first were pitched the idea of working at home? Were you able to keep the schedule you were working before the merger, or were you herded into the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift spots? I work split shift over two of them right now. For anyone working at Landmark, when you make your schedule for the month, what is the least amount of lines you commit to a day? Reason I'm asking is, I've found Landmark runs of out work quite often. I've had my schedule set at 700 lines per day, but I feel like I have to be logged on for 10 hours just to reach that point since it's NJA a lot. Recently, I've lowered myself to 500, then 400, and was thinking of going down a bit lower and making them my part-time job. ...
