CTL positions being eliminated? - Anon

Heard a rumor that the CTL positions are being eliminated around the 15th. Perhaps this is a question you should ask your CCMs/area directors? Not sure if it is true but when asked specifically, it was not denied but there is something brewing around the 15th.
Seems like all CTLs will be moved to the MME positions and the CCMs will assume the CTL duties. Sounds like another shake up at the Q which always happens around the holidays. Wonder if the CCMs will have to take a pay cut to the current CTL payscale and do production?
This may be a rumor but never hurts to ask.

[ In Reply To ..]I bet it's true! My formerly invisible, unavailable CCM has actually been e-mailing us in the past week. I wondered why suddenly she is asking us for things that we used to give to the CTL. What good is the CTL anyway? She has to forward or ask the CCM everything. She/he has no power or authority of their own, at least mine doesn't.

[ In Reply To ..]May be redundant but I would rather talk to a CTL than CCM. CCM has no idea what it's like being an MT/ME. They have no idea how crazy some of the demands are. At least the CTL understands. I don't feel like I am hitting my head against a wall when I communicate w/ the CCM. So the rumor is probably true. They found out it made our job a little more tolerable so they are doing away with the position. How about doing away with some of the propaganda writers on MQCentral?

[ In Reply To ..]Received an email stating we will be having job performance again. The last one was in June. I think something is really, really brewing than just CTL's and CCM's. Also, we were swamped with work for the last 6 months. We have overtime, work more hours, etc. and now, NO JOBS AVAILABLE. Because work volume low, we are not helping out other accounts. Something is up alright.

Also, in the email for job performance, it also stated since We have not been having job performance since the REORGANIZATION IN OCTOBER. What reorganization in October? Oh well. More changes again and again.

[ In Reply To ..]I never knew we were ever not in job performance management. As for the reorganization, I think all they do is change around the office staff and then call it that. Anytime they have position switches they want to make it into some kind of major event. I guess the 15th will tell what kind of changes come next, especially if the CTLs are demoted.

[ In Reply To ..]Just like QA submission rate policy, performance management is always there, sometimes used, sometimes not, depending on what they want to do to us at the moment. I agree, when you have NJA and working on other accounts, they cannot, morally anyway, hold you to the same standards on QA blanks AND quality. Just not human I tell you.

I want to get my work today and turn it in by a certain time the next day without having to work a schedule or in pools. Just wandering if there are any employee positions that aren't just editing out there. I feel like I am not growing as an MT doing nothing but editing. Unless I choose to just edit and accept this is the new norm at 3 cents a line, eventually getting my own voice recognition software for the future for any accounts I want to get on my own. I am looking for a true IC position where I can work when I am available due to being handicapped. I sometimes have some very bad days and can't get out of bed as a result of it and I keep losing jobs. I am also wondering if there are any companies that pay MTs what they're worth on VR.
