What do you usually do, make up the time, take without pay? I find it - shortcake

extremely difficult to make up the time around my schedule so I usually take it without pay. I get so little PTO so that really is not an option. I wish they would just let me go, that would light a fire under my butt to get another job!!! I think my friends and family are planning a "job intervention" for me because I'm so miserable.....

I normally make it up on the weekends so I at least don't lose hours but today is the last day of the pay period so I have a feeling everyone is on board today trying to get that last push or to make up the hours they've lost the last week. I've already used up all my PTO to supplement my check so I only have 15 minutes left in my account (I have to cash it in every pay period).

Hang in there. It really sucks, I know ... you're not alone. :(

I also am hoping beyond hope that they let me go. I am miserable as well. I really used to love this job and that is what keeps me hanging by a thread, "what used to be." Its sad. I have to move on.

morning and finally something became available. My whole family tells me I am a different person now. Hang in there. I believe there is something else for you. I know we ALL like working at home, but working outside the house is not bad either. I was afraid, but it has really truly been a blessing for me. I really didn't realize how miserable I was.

My husband saw an immediate change in me, too, as soon as I quit my job with an MTSO. I had gotten to the point where I could hardly recognize myself.

Besides what many of these jobs have done to us (not all, because apparently some people are still very happy with their jobs) in terms of lowered pay, robbing us of hours of free time to spend with our families or doing other things we enjoy, lowering self esteem, etc., etc....one of the most tragic things is that they have subtly robbed many of us of our joy and personalities.

I was always an extremely happy, upbeat, life-loving kind of person before my long-term hospital job was outsourced to an MTSO; but within 6 months, I was tired, cranky, stressed-out, haggard-looking, angry, short-tempered, and irritable. For me, that was too high a price to pay.

hmmmm.... job intervention-the new reality show. Bet MM wouldn't like to see THAT aired. Just sayin'. I hope your situation improves. What has happened to MTs is just plain wrong and unethical!!! I prayed, I got an answer, not exactly the way or when I wanted it to happen, but I am MT-Gone and back to my normal happy, outgoing self!!!

That is totally me! I watched a documentary on the documentary channel this weekend "Going Postal In America" (or something like that) and how at least one of the postal workers was treated badly by his supervisor and the other employees could see how the supervisor was doing it and everyone felt helpless. The psychologists and workplace advocates talked about how this type of situation with these factors becomea "perfect storm" and my husband mentioned that it sounded just like what we discuss (the pay, the treatment, the pushing for more, more and more but do it perfect, etc.) and how it affects people's personalities. I told him the only difference is we work from home. He said abuse is abuse. It's a really, really good documentary to watch and so relastive to our situation in regard to how some of us feel we are really getting the shaft, low pay, etc. Just my opinion.

I didn't see the show you're talking about, but I used to work for the Post Office and I can tell you it's true. It was such a nightmare and so happy I left there. But I think there, there is so much bullying, peer pressure, brown nosing, cliques, etc, nothing like we experience. We are totally alone, isolated working at home. Its just not the same thing, the PO is a culture of abuse, people who cheat the system and if you do not go along, they make an example of you.

I work for an MTSO and am distressed because I really need the work/money (I know, who doesn't - hah). I'm getting so tired of having a report or two, then NJA, then while waiting another report comes, then NJA, etc., etc., early in my shift. Sure, we have been encouraged to just check back later on and work then. I really don't know why they suggest or even allow this to happen. When you log on during another shift, all you're doing is taking work from those folks who normall work then. They in turn are then told to work later too and this cycle of NJA just ...

I am sick to death of typing on accounts not in my BOB! This is the 4th one already and I am only an hour into my shift. There are no samples in the repositry, there are no jobs that come up under the dictator look up feature... I keep stuffing down the Tums, wondering why in the heck I was forced to do weekend hours when there is no work in my accounts on the weekend. I HATE THIS. How do you all do it? Who put me in this "helper pool" in the first place? ...

An addition to my regular account, but it was all I was getting and NOT getting my OP notes at all. The reports were not more than 20 lines usually, but I spent much, much time in trying to decipher and be FTR.
