Soooo busy, work coming out of proverbial ears, a family crisis and health problems, but plenty of time to post, post, post, transcription is not dead! making money hand over fist! can't find qualified MTs! can't even reply to emails from MTs! no time to give you any specifics!

I definitely need a break from this board.

My mom, while not in the ICU, was on hospice care for 23 months. Yep, you read that right. One month short of being on hospice for 2 full years. She died this February on a Friday after going into organ failure the previous Sunday. Please don't belittle this person because of a dying mom. People really don't understand what a toll it takes on family.

I have to assume she is telling the truth about her mom. I am not up-to-date on this person. I just happened to see comment about her "mother" "dying for the last two years" and wanted to respond to that part.

and I sympathize with your position. However, as you stated, you are not up to date on this woman you responded about. If you have never worked for her, you have no idea what she is like. I have, and believe me, she is not all that she represents herself to be. I call her a liar because that is the truth. I do not normally just bash people on here unless I speak from experience. She lies about everything. She says she has so many accounts that she cannot keep up, and this is her way of searching out "victims" to do her work for her. She says she is "injured", yet she is on this board constantly posting and boasting about how much money she makes and has. I tend to believe that part because she gets people to work for her and do the work, and she reaps the rewards. I only commented about her "mother" because it is simply one more sympathy seeking excuse to suck in naÃ¯ve people to do her work for her. Again, I apologize for your mother, but I do not apologize for the comments made about this person and her perceived illnesses, numerous accounts, bookoo bucks, and all her "expertise" in this field because it just isn't so.

I better understand your position now. Like I said, I have not been following the discussion closely (or previous threads) and could not vouch for anything being talked about. I just know that during those 23 months with my mom on hospice, I did things that did not make sense to other people (I was super sensitive about what other people thought were off the wall things) and feel like I was on a battle ground during that time. While it was ongoing, though, it made sense to me.

Not excusing the behavior of the person you are discussing, but IF there is pressure from a parent with a prolonged battle for life and death, I can emphathize about THAT issue. I hope things work out well for everyone involved here. Thank you for taking the time to add clarity about the situation.

for you since you have worked for her. I was thinking of responding to her and offering to help out since I myself have been caught in a set of circumstances that was almost too fantastical to believe. Was it decent work, and did you get paid? Is she and/or her mother not ill?

but I am afraid if I do, she will know who I am and I surely do not want that to happen. lets just say this... the work was fair, not much, but fair. The "editing" upon return of documents was horrific and nothing you could do would ever please her. Very inconsistent, changing with every document. Her comments were almost incoherent... speaking in short uncoordinated, in cohesive sentences .. almost manic. Her moods changed minute by minute and she was really hard to deal with. As far as the "illnesses," if there were any, I felt they were quite exaggerated and only spoken of for sympathy. Pay? well, yes... sort of, but not "on time" and the invoice had better be in the format she demanded, or she would not pay until it was the way she wanted. There is more, but I feel I have said way too much already and I do not want to jeopardize my anonymity any more than I already have. Just be wary... good luck to you and/or anyone else who tries to work for her.

P.S. You must also ask yourself - why someone who

"needs help" as badly as she says she does, does not put a true "ad" on the job seekers board, but instead comes on the main board and "hints around" at needing help, and then someone who replies to her saying they will help, she tells them to email her and she will get back to them at a certain time? If it was a legitimate need for workers, she would be more up and up about it. Think about that hard before getting sucked in.

I have a lot on my plate and do have a job as of this moment, so don't need additional headaches on top of it all. Just thought maybe someone needed help in an extreme situation and not necessarily advertise on job board if not a company as just an individual. I know I have probably come off as "wacky" a few times when dealing with people the past several years when trying to handle my situation so just wasn't sure about this. Thanks for your help!

This is the actual sentence the doc dictated. I listened to it 3 times. "There was initially significant tachycardia where her beta blocker was resumed, although this had given her bradyarrhythmias and sinus block in the past, but ultimately, with regulization, her potassium and magnesium levels, and because of recurrent hypotension her beta blockers were discontinued and her rhythm remained stable." When I am transcribing, I am hitting some key combination that is turning my type to all caps. It's not the caps lock or it would show it was on. Transcribing as fast as all of us do it is impossible to figure out what I am hitting to make this happen. Does anyone have any ideas??? So appreciative!!! :) ...

ESL, after saying the headings, repeats them along with adding a few more words, but it still means the same damn thing, says "umm you know" after almost every other word, keeps saying "feeded" instead of fed. VR has not learned him at all, so I'm having to delete every other word and all the "umm you knows". 13 minutes worth of this crap. And 20 minutes later I'm not even done with it yet. Every time we have had technical downtime, she has screwed it up; adding the wrong times, deleting my punches, and replacing them with something she apparently made up. Seriously how do you mark me for not putting a comma in when I have a QA marker preceeding it..Obviously I missed a word, the dictator rots, sorry..So instead of adding all that extra crap in..If you had just stuck to what I put, I may have learned something..Instead, my mind is going in 90 directions and I marked it as read and moved on..Waste of my time. And when I put one through QA for a repeat word I feel I should know and just have never heard it or cant document it, then I NEVER see ...

It is so very frustrating! I type for a wound care clinic, and, of course, a great deal of the patients there are diabetic, as am I. About a year ago I learned from my diabetic teacher that a local supermarket chain pharmacy offers all diabetic supplies and meds for free, whether you are insured or not. You see it periodically, OB, radiology, and something else but it's pretty clear the work will be OB. The test consists of 3 files (getting this from the ad) and you should finish it in less than 2 hours. 3 files? How long are the files? So, my real question is (the other two were thiinking out loud), does this ad get run periodically to clear out the backlog or is it really a legit job and why does it come up so often? It's not the exact same ad everytime ...
