I have an Office Max Zeal Task II Chair that I like. Price is $99, but you can sometimes get it for as low as $49.99 when it goes on sale.

Chair - me

I just bought a chair that goes real low and you can purchase the option of seat slider. I am very small but tall, and this chair is the best I have ever had! I got it at www.sit4less. It is marketed as a 24-hour chair. Scroll down to see the posts on a chair, where I asked for recommendations and what I bought. The chair was $400 and worth every penny.

i could not locate the post for chairs. I am on sit4less looking. which chair did you get for 400? I so desperately need a new one!

It is called Allseating Promid back heavy duty 24-hour task chair I think 50112? You can order it with the arms, and a slider seat option is the most important for us small people.

This is the first chair I have been comfortable in since I started transcribing 12 years and many, many chairs ago. It also goes down way low for you.

Good luck.

Awesome Arm Exercise For Tired Arms And
Apr 09, 2014

I was watching a yoga show ("watching" being the operative word) and the instructor said she had a great exercise for people who sit at a desk and type all day. You can do this in your chair. You hold your arms out to your sides and keeping them straight out, rotate/twist them back and forth within the shoulder socket. You go as far as you can one way, and then hold it for a few seconds and then go the other way as far as you can and hold it. Your palms will point down one way and up ...

Ergonomic Keyboards
Jan 28, 2012

I have been a transcriptionist for quite some time and have used the Microsoft Elite Ergonomic Keyboard and have tried two new replacements but for some reason with the newer version of this brand the keys are really hard to touch.  Has anyone used a split keyboard such as the Kinesis or Gold Touch?  I am looking at spending more on something that is of better quality and soft touch on the keys due to shoulder problems.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!  ...

What's Your Fave Ergonomic Keyboard
Jul 31, 2010

Well I just spent a load of $ on a fancy-schmancy ergonomic Goldtouch keyboard, and I like the layout, EXCEPT that after a month, the keys are hard and gluey-feeling. It was supposed to have a very "light touch." The space bar on the right side sticks constantly and I have to hit it so hard with my thumb, my hand is starting to hurt. What is your favorite ergonomic keyboard? I still remember a wonderful soft springy Compaq keyboard that I loved, until my coworker worked at my desk one ...

Ergonomic Kneeling Chairs - Anyone Tried One?
Jun 05, 2012

Hello - My knees are a bit sensitive and I'm wondering if anyone out there who also has sensitive knees has ever tried one of these kneeling office chairs.  They're supposed to be quite good for the back and posture, though as I said, I'm a wee concerned about the knees. Anyone?  Thanks so much in advance. ...

"Quiet' Ergonomic Keyboard
Mar 18, 2010

I am currently using a Microsoft Natural 7000 keyboard.  The space bar is getting more and more difficult to press (sticking), so I am looking to purchase a new one.  I would prefer something where the keys type a little quieter and also one that is a lighter color (not black).  Does anyone have any recommendations that are not extremely high priced?  Thanks! ...

Transcriptioin Chair

I'm looking for a good transcription chair.  When we started working from home I asked to take my chair and told I could not.  I even offered to buy it from them but still could not get it.  I want one that adjusts in height and has arms that move in or out as well as up and down.  The chair at the hospital was over a $400.00 chair and it was so comfortable.  If anyone knows of a good place to purchase one of these over the internet please let me know.   &nbs ...

Can anybody recommend a good chair? I am petite, 5 feet 6 inches but small and need cushioning. Chair Suggestions?
May 16, 2014

Does anyone have some suggestions for a good quality office chair, an ergonomic model in particular which focuses on support for the lower back? I've been able to get away with relatively cheap ones for over a decade, but after a back injury last year, the cheap ones are killing me. I've tried back rests and cushions with no relief. I've looked at some floor models in supply stores and online reviews, but can't tell which one would make a difference. I'd apprecia ...

Body Built Chair
Feb 24, 2010

I wanted to share my chair info with every MT.  I recently read about the Body Built Chair and decided to check it out.  I did finally purchase the chair after much hesitation because it cost so much.  I love the chair so much!  I am so pleased I purchased it.  They do have a 30 day return policy.  I was having pain and discomfort in my lower back, my legs,  my butt, every where it seems after years of transcribing.  I have purchased several chairs.  ...

Does Anyone Out There Use A Balance Ball Chair
Mar 24, 2011

I'm trying to use just my balance ball right now.  I have some low back problems and find that my posture is horrendous with sitting in a normal office chair; however, just the balance ball alone seems to be a little too low.  Overall, it feels more comfortable on my rear end than my normal office chair and I'm definitely sitting up straighter, but wondered if anyone else out there had any experiences, good or bad, with using a balance ball or the balance ball chair setup.&nb ...

Need To Vent (computer Chair Related)
Apr 27, 2011

My computer chair tore up, so I needed to get a new one. I tried some out at the store and got a cushy one. After I put it together and sat in it for 30 minutes, I had severe pain. It felt like my whole body went numb and tingly. So I had to take it back. I got a second chair and can tell it's not going to be comfortable and that I will need to take it back. I'm sick, tired, and frustrated about this. Not at the stores or the people that work there, because it's not their fault ( ...
