Honestly, this dictation I'm doing is like the turn signal syndrome. What I mean by that is people who don't bother to use their turn signals when they turn (I know, I'm anal. I even use mine in parking lots). There's a reason they're on the car and it's against the law not to use them when indicated.
This doctor doesn't know how to use the turn signal, er, um, pause button, and I'm sitting here listening to um, um, um, um, um for several seconds while waiting for more verbage to spew forth from his mouth. Of course, we have the opposite type of doctors who overuse the pause button and cut themselves off all the time. I suppose the type I have now is better. I'm just keeping my fingers on the buttons that speed the dictation up all the way, then slow him back down when he starts speaking again. Argh! Too bad we don't get paid by the "ums". LOL. We'd all be rich.
Hope everyone is having a great day! :-)
