Geez, I could check and answer emails AND check the latest FB posts in between this one doctor's words! Guess it beats the heck out of doctors who feel like they're being paid by the word to dictate.

I'd rather have that than someone stuttering. - I hate that with a passion. nm

Turns into only 60 lines or so. It's not because he stutters, it's because he keeps saying "that is good" or "that is that" and never really saying anything of consequence. Even sped up to the maximum, it still takes over a half an hour to one his dictations. I feel so cheated when I'm done and only get 60 lines or so. Very frustrating.

Yep, I've had a few of those myself. I think my most "fun" transcription was for a Neuropsych with Tourette's syndrome. You wouldn't believe some of the sounds that came over my headphones! He would have 15 minutes of dictation, about 5 of those minutes were his "verbal tics."

I would still like to hear from more of you about whether or not you have problems with DQS being slow. Today was one of the worst days I have ever had. I recently spent over 3 hours with support but no one has a definitive answer. I can tell you all that when Kaspersky does a virus scan, you cannot work at all. Anybody else sick of DQS sometimes taking forever to download a job and then being told that it is either our computer's fault or our internet connection?? My internet and computer has not changed since this started happening. However, it did start when they updated DQS, but, of course, that can't be the reason! ...

Every site having to do with MQ is as slow as molasses. Other Internet sites whiz along. Trying to check MQ E-mail, clock in, etc. is always a draaaaaaaaggggg. Is it their equipment or poor IT I wonder? Either way, once again makes you wonder about their accuracy on any of our numbers. Does their software "catch" everything or are some of my lines are flying past while it is dragging like a snail? ...

Hi all, I am a new transcriptionist. I have a job with a very small company that's doing transcription for a group of hospitals in Florida. The lady who hired me is so nice. She is training me and I am producing a quality product, but I am so slow! I'm averaging about 100 lines per hour because I have to look some things up or the doctors take such long breaks to look things up in the record in front of them. Does anyone else have this problem? I can type a few words or a lengthy sentence, but the cursor is super slow and lags behind. Not only that, but the audio will just keep going until the cursor finishes "typing" what I did and will not respond to the foot pedal. Sometimes it can take quite awhile for the cursor to catch up. ...

I have told myself I would keep some kind of a diary recording the volume of work for different times of the year, yet have never actually done this. It seems as though work is unusually slow for the past couple of weeks, with only the odd busy time (usually at nights of course, when I start in the mornings). Hospital I work for just went from Dictaphone to Chartscript. My DSL (Frontier) is old and slow. When too many people are using the DSL, the speed slows WAY down and the jobs don't save. Never had this problem with Dictaphone, so not sure whether it's the DSL or Chartscript. Anybody else have this particular problem? Thanks in advance ...
