Anyone else slow at Landmark - Maxs mom

Don't know if it's because of the past holiday or what, but I've barely been able to make half my quota for the past 2 weeks! I don't recall a lull lasting this long before and I've been with them for a few years.

I guess I should've paid more attention to the warnings on this board before I accepted a job with them. There was one particular poster who had nothing but praise for the company, and instead of listening to negative comments, I decided to believe her, against my better judgment. I like the work, but there just isn't enough of it!

I'm actively looking for other employment, but so far I'm having no luck. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to keep things afloat. I'm trying really hard to stay positive and not get depressed...:(

I know we can sometimes get extremely negative about our jobs and may be slightly excessive in our complaints at times, but a totally glowing report of any MTSO these days is highly suspect, IMHO.

Interestingly, I also am a mom to a Max, but my Max is a cat! Things are a bit slow, but I think you can expect that with any company in the summer. I have been doing this for a lot of years, and it has always been the case, no matter which company I worked for. I have worked for three large nationals (one of them MQ)in the past, and they were also slow in the summer. Give me Landmark any day! Nicer people, better QA.

I was hired about 2 months ago because "we need people on eScription." No matter when I log in there is maybe 1 report to be done, wait an hour or 2 and another one pops up. They were deseparte for people to work on eScription, and for what? There certainly is never any kind of back log. Good thing is that they never bother me about why I can't make my line count. Only surviving with a seoncd job.

My Max is a dog. We picked a good name! I do like working for Landmark as well. I just don't remember it being THIS slow. I just got hired part-time with another company, so that will take up the slack for me.

I worked for Landmark for a few weeks before signing on with Nuance (don't bother with them either there is rarely any work). At Landmark, I did editing and transcription and seemed to stay fairly busy...and then I got my first check, which was 140-bucks for 2 weeks. I quit immediately. There was never any explanation as to why the pay was so low.

Yep, a great name! What kind is your dog? My cat is a 23-pound Maine Coon. I think things are slow in many companies. Not only is it summer, the medical year (July to July) has just begun, and the economy is bad, so many people are putting off non-urgent medical care. I think things will pick up, I really do.

My dog is a lab/shepherd mix. He's 5 months old. We adopted him from the pound. He's a sweetheart. Still trying to get him housebroken. He's been doing good, maybe only 1 accident a week now. He graduates from puppy training class tonight.

praising them on this board that the other poster was talking about. Answer this question Black Swan, if things are slow, especially at this time of year, why was Landmark advertising last week for help. Typical! Yes, I work for LM and am slow on work too, which is why I can't figure out why they are actually hiring, but if any of you reading this apply with them, be aware you will RUN OUT OF WORK DAILY!

That would be a question for management, not for an MT, to answer. And yes, I praise them because they have been good to me and I try to do my best for them. If you have issues, you might try taking them to someone who can actually do something for you. The tone of your post reminds me why I seldom come here.

answer it. Curious for someone who seldom comes on this board. Further, I have found it is best to sit and shut up while I wait for work and wonder why LM is actually hiring for fear it definitely will dry up permanently!

All I am saying is that I too like working for Landmark, ESPECIALLY when I have work to do, but I would never make it my primary income!

I am not bitter, just tired.

I have 96 physicians programmed in for several accounts, and I have been very slow also. Lots of doctors out on vacation still or patients. Hang in there....

As much as I would love to "hang in there," I'm guessing the bank won't want to "hang in there" if I'm late on my house payment, nor will my other creditors. Lol. Believe me, running out of work is really my only complaint with this company, but unfortunately that's a big complaint...

I keep hearing things like, "it's summer" "vacation time" "a few dictators are out" "there's work there" (when OBVIOUSLY there was NO work there or I wouldn't have been asking!)

I can't keep adding companies to my "in box" because eventually they are all going to expect me to be IN at the same time!

I have worked for LM for four years and no I'm NOT a recruiter, just a regular MT. My account is backed up and has been for a couple of weeks. Apparently there were people who decided not to do anything for a couple of days after 07/04 and I think we lost someone before that.

Talk to your lead and see if there's any work they can shuffle your way. Ask about the accounts that they are hiring for and see if you fit their requirements. Be proactive. They are my primary source of income and have been for a while and I have no problems with making decent money with them.

I posted above the I wonder comment. I don't think people who post positive things are recruiters, just suspect that maybe the ones that are super glowing and say how fantastically wonderful and stupendous their work place is could possibly have ulterior motives.

I have worked at a few MTSOs, as well as in-house, and all of them had some serious negatives going for them, as well as positives.

Your post simply gives good advice. I just wanted to clarfy that I did not mean the passing on of positive points of any company should be dismissed.

Anybody else sick of DQS sometimes taking forever to download a job and then being told that it is either our computer's fault or our internet connection?? Every site having to do with MQ is as slow as molasses. Other Internet sites whiz along. Trying to check MQ E-mail, clock in, etc. is always a draaaaaaaaggggg. Is it their equipment or poor IT I wonder? Either way, once again makes you wonder about their accuracy on any of our numbers. Hi all, I am a new transcriptionist. I have a job with a very small company that's doing transcription for a group of hospitals in Florida. The lady who hired me is so nice. She is training me and I am producing a quality product, but I am so slow! Does anyone else have this problem? I can type a few words or a lengthy sentence, but the cursor is super slow and lags behind. Not only that, but the audio will just keep going until the cursor finishes "typing" what I did and will not respond to the foot pedal. I have told myself I would keep some kind of a diary recording the volume of work for different times of the year, yet have never actually done this. It seems as though work is unusually slow for the past couple of weeks, with only the odd busy time (usually at nights of course, when I start in the mornings). Hospital I work for just went from Dictaphone to Chartscript. My DSL (Frontier) is old and slow. When too many people are using the DSL, the speed slows WAY down and the jobs don't save.
