Is your hearing so fine tuned that you can visualize what these dictators are physically doing? - ETOHPRN

Posted: Nov 18, 2014

There's this one dude who chews gum as he dictates the patient demographics. It's not super annoying and I can hear that part all fine.  Then, as he dictates the body of the report, he bites down on the gum and talks with only his lips and tongue while keeping his teeth clenched on the gum.  And he talks fast while he does it.

I know he does this because I reproduced it myself, as I'm a constant gum chewer, but I cheek my gum when I talk, not clench it in my teeth like that guy does.  And it physically HURT me to talk like that!  How he can do it for lengths of time, I have no idea!  He is a pain management specialist though, so maybe he's giving himself a little somethin' somethin'.
:-D

Gotta love it - ICMT

I have one doctor who dictates while flossing her teeth. She is also constantly snorting boogers during her dictation. It literally makes me nauseated listening to her.

700 LPH: Is It Actually Physically Possible? Sm
May 27, 2012

700 LPH: Is it actually physically possible?  Kudos to you if you are truly able to do that. But I sincerely do not believe it is at all common, at least not working for one of the big MTSOs. Maybe for a small MTSO with only 1 or 2 dictators.  I'd be bored out of my tree with that though, but the money would be much better.  LOL My observations and questions on producing 500-700 LPH. I did a little test a few weeks ago and listened to several of my previous reports t ...

Literally Physically Sick Of This
Jul 30, 2013

These are the last 3 days of my notice. I thought I would be elated. Instead, I had a really really bad day (again). I have always done well, been in the business forever. I learned to hang on here a year, rarely if ever paid mind to the nasty e mails because I kept my nose to the grindstone. I managed to get bonus almost every payperiod the last several months, and last time got the big bonus.   All of a sudden out of nowhere about 3 weeks ago I suddenly sucked so bad as an MT it seems I ...

Lousy Dictators - Crappy, Hard To Understand Dictators, Both ESL And English-speaking
May 17, 2014

Today I will make less than half of what I normally get because all I've gotten today are crappy, hard to understand dictators, both ESL and English-speaking.  Seems like all I get lately are the hard to understand, mush-mouth dictators.  Guess Nuance doesn't want their MTs making quota.  Sorry.  I just had to vent. ...

Am I Losing My Hearing
Jun 17, 2013

I invested in a "good" or what I thought was a "good" pair of headphones a while back.  However, lately I have been struggling with dictators.  It seems like more and more of them have mumbling, stumbling speech making it EXTREMELY difficult to interpret.  In a "perfect" world, our job would be soooo much easier and not having to struggle with them mumbling, whispering, holding conversations (or at least attempting to) while dictating, and on and on. Oh well, at least I have a j ...

Hearing Issue
Mar 20, 2015

Had eye exam today--getting new glasses.  Can't wait to see better. I also had a brief hearing test as well.  Got set up for appointment with audiologist.  It seems my left ear does not hear low tones and the right does not hear high tones.  It is no wonder to me as all the years I have worn headphones, ear buds, or loud music.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  ...

They Have Been Hearing These Same Things Over And Over And Over And
Mar 27, 2015

...the business model works well for them. They made their money off you before you even signed on. They made it 1) when they landed your previous facility's contract and 2) when you were gullible enough to sign on to help voice wreck unemploy yourselves. If they wanted you to stick around you'd be so overworked you could not stand it. Nothing new about any of this stuff except this appears to be the latest set of Nuance casualties. In another month there will be another new set when t ...

On top of that, the report is 28 minutes long!!! Should never have gotten out of bed this morning. LOL I do feel bad for him that he doesn't realize he doesn't have to spell every other ...
