Error charges? Update - CMB

Received clarification from the company below. My question is: If it is extremely rare that these charges are ever made, why is it in the contract to begin with?

"This section applies specifically to errors that are considered excessive. That would be errors that have been corrected numerous times and still continue to be made by the MT even after several corrections. This also refers to errors which are made and NOT marked for review for our QA staff. This does not apply during the probationary period as during the probationary period 100% of your work will be reviewed 100% by the QA staff regardless. It is extremely rare that we ever have to charge anyone for errors like this."

If I could post the contract somewhere so you could read the whole thing, I would. I don't want to break any rules, though.

It's actually kind of funny. The font and type size changes from page to page. Tons of spelling errors. They obviously didn't spell check it, because I think it would flag something like "as Lofinso desires" or "Lofin'sassociation with."

If it were me, I would need more specific details, specific examples of those "rare" occasions to which they referred. As it is written, it seems that the MTSO has a lot of leeway on their end and could justify future charges in the future by something like, "Oh, what we meant by that was..."

Like you said, the fact that they have this clause in the contract at all raises concern.

The proper place to ask this question is to the company that is offering the contract. None of us can know why such a thing is there.

voicing my concern that the explanation they provided me is not the exact wording that is in the contract. The contract makes no mention of "consistent", "excessive" or "uncorrected" errors, just simply "errors deemed justified for this charge..."
This is the 1st IC contract I have ever laid my eyeballs on, and I had never heard of error charges or chargebacks until I read it there. The director of my training program says these clauses are standard in IC contracts. I just don't know what to believe, but I have a feeling that for some reason if I sign, this will come back to bite me.

I have been in the profession since 1968 and I can state that these clauses are most assuredly NOT standard in IC contracts. It will come back to bite you. All of the warning signs are there. RUN! :)

Has anyone else noticed an EMR charge on their bill from their doctor's office? My son went to the doctor the other day and when he brought home his receipt it was a nicely printed out list of all charges for his past few visits. I picked it up to look at it and was amused, to say the least, every visit has a $10 charge for EMR. Today I get the paperwork from the HSA that we had the option to join for the new insurance. Hi everyone I just wanted to stop by really quick and let you all know that finally, FINALLY I am off QA. I was given two accounts today in addition to the one they had initially given me. I can now type w/o counting my reports and waiting for feedback first. It remains to be seen of course, whether or not there will be as much work as I was told but so far, this company has been true to their word. Still, four days on a very restrictive QA protocol was quite scary. I am a LOT grayer now ...

Okay so when I logged in this morning, I get the message to upgrade. I am currently using Vista. When I go to Docqmanage to upgrade, I get the message "The version of DocQscribe you are trying to install requires the Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package SP2." I tried to install it, but it says its not compatible with Vista! Somebody Help!! ...

I pointed out the job number and QA person who made two errors in a report after marking me with a Major error. The QA leader, of course, went over what "I" did wrong and why her QA was correct and mentioned the grammatical errors; however, didn't mention that they were made BY THE QA PERSON and left it implied that they were mine as well.
