A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
I haven't posted lately, but I thought that I would just drop a line to keep anyone interested up to date.
I am graduating in June with my M.D., near the top of my class. Already passed the boards. As my classes have progressed it has actually gotten much easier because of my years of transcribing. I know the treatment for most diseases because I have typed them time and time again.
I know there is a lot of frustration out there because of what I perceive as a lack of respect for our occupation, but you must understanding, the knowledge that you have gained from this occupation is invaluable, even if management just sees us as mindless typists that can be replaced by a computer.
I once again reiterate that, upon completing my training, I will NEVER use off-shore or computer-based transcription, and as long as there is one transcriptionist out there in America, I will value that person highly.
Be proud of yourselves.
