Either Did Something Good or Incredibly Stupid - Time Will Tell

I'm happy with the work that I do, but not so happy at the way I am paid (who is in this business), as it is an extremely confusing matrix. The only thing I do understand is they use a formula to achieve the net lines I am paid. So, me being in a brave mood (or stupid) emails my concern to the company's CEO. He's readily available via messaging and we (as employees) are encouraged to 'say hi' or speak to him if we see him online. I put together a very respectful yet concise in my concern email regarding the way I am compensated. Nothing may come of it or something, like me getting fired (which I certainly do not want) will happen. Hope everyone has a great day.

You may as well go right to the top of the food chain and be done with it.

If your company is one of the big 2, most people are at constant risk of being fired for whatever stupid reason at some point, so you may as well ask whatever you like.

And I have a much better understanding of the way I am paid. She took the time to explain everything, which I greatly appreciated. That being said, for as much as I use to like coming here, I am going to step back and stay away. I really like my job and who I work for. I always said I'd work for less if I was happy doing what I'm doing and I am, immensely. I thank you all for your help and warnings (in the past), but this is for my sanity. Take Care.

I decided to work from home after losing a year with my then 3 year old son, when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007. That is time I will never get back. My husband and I discussed it and when I chose to go to school for MT, I said I'd be able to work from home. We agreed that would be ideal and went with it. I always said even back then, no matter what career I chose, that I'd rather be happy doing what I do and make less, that be paid handsomely and be miserable. And if being happy at Acusis makes me their ideal employee, then yay for me.

I have taken breaks from MTstars. But I have also been told NOT to come here by mgmt and they do that to protect themselves -- so keep that in mind. You can learn a whole lot here, as long as you filter what you see through a sound mindset. I have learned valuable tips for the job, gotten tech help, and even learned when my company had sold BEFORE the company told us. So I wouldn't recommend staying away for long!

Very true! The knowledge to be gained here - far outweighs any of the irritation.

and still do. Over time, I have gotten results and resolution of issues that way (in MT and outside of). On the pay issue, there probably will not be an immediate result, but hey, they need to hear from us. I don't expect you to get fired. While some of the upper crust doesn't want to deal with those of us who are so outspoken, I do believe they respect our courage. Wishing you the best.

This is something that has been bothering me. I feel stupid asking, but since it's rather important, I ask. cpl Currently, I am making 0.083 per line typed. I see people stating things like 7 cpl or .8 cpl. Does that equate to 7.0 per lined type (seems crazy!) and 0.8 per line typed? I'm currently being offered incentive pay for working on my days off. Did your TSM have you check this and check for your expansions before the go live? Is transcribing Acute Care notes that much different than clinical notes? I currently transcribe for a family practice and gastro docs who do colonoscopies and minor procedures and have typed for oncologists and cardiologists, gyns, ophthalmologists. Can it really be that much different? I'm asking because I think I could do it. Does anybody ever get a raise or do we only get the amount we started at indefinitely? Just curious. My inactive time is HUGE. I just came over from another company that was pretty bad about training. I learned DQS on my own without any help whatsoever. stating too many reports being sent in with blanks. Need to send these to QA/MME/whatever they're called now. Why would we do this and get paid even less for the most horrible dictators, the worst sound quality, nothing in repository to help, being in the cesspool, yadda, yadda, yadda.
