Does anybody ever get a raise or do we only get the amount we started at indefinitely? Just curious. It seems that the longer we are with a company and doing more work with better quality we would be compensated accordingly. I'm sure that is not the case, but just wondering and kind of dreaming about maybe getting a different job where you can advance instead of go down in pay!! Thanks.

I worked at OSI and got raises every year until taken over by Nuance. I do hear on here that others do not get raises???? Who else but MTs do not get a raise? Its totally insane !!!!

Well, my husband works at the executive level as a CFO, and not only has he not gotten a pay raise in about 4 years, he and all the other managers at the company are being required to take their second pay cut in 2 years. The first time they cut everyone's pay 15%, now it's another 5%. Needless to say, he's looking for another job, as his pay just keeps going backward.

I have had 2 raises in the past 3 years. I had to ask though. They weren't given automatically.

Once I hit .10 with one of my MTSO's, that was it for raises and that was probably a couple years ago. I've been with them for over 10 yrs, started at .07 - so got .03 raise in 10 years. My other MTSO that I work for I started at .085 a year and a half ago and am now at .10. Don't know if they will go any higher, but doubt it since I just found out today that most of my account just went to VR. No warning, work just started slowing and then BAM...was told they switched to a new system.

I was put on a new account and was told they would go to VR in 6 months or so, then all of a sudden 1 week later the entire account went to VR - my pay went down .25/report.

We are paid on a scale, the more you do, the little more you make. We lost our cost of living raise 2 years ago. That extra bit has hurt. There will never be raises in this field. If you want a raise, you can work 16 hour days. I basically have made the same amount per year for 15 years EXCEPT for the last 2 years. My company has lost accounts, made cut backs. I have 1 account with 50 million people working it. It's a horrible account - lots of ESLs. If I ever find a job that pays even slightly better and I only have to work 8 hour days, I'm outta here.

This is something that has been bothering me. I feel stupid asking, but since it's rather important, I ask. cpl Currently, I am making 0.083 per line typed. I see people stating things like 7 cpl or .8 cpl. Does that equate to 7.0 per lined type (seems crazy!) and 0.8 per line typed? I'm currently being offered incentive pay for working on my days off. Did your TSM have you check this and check for your expansions before the go live? Is transcribing Acute Care notes that much different than clinical notes? I currently transcribe for a family practice and gastro docs who do colonoscopies and minor procedures and have typed for oncologists and cardiologists, gyns, ophthalmologists. Can it really be that much different? I'm asking because I think I could do it. My inactive time is HUGE. I just came over from another company that was pretty bad about training. I learned DQS on my own without any help whatsoever. stating too many reports being sent in with blanks. Need to send these to QA/MME/whatever they're called now. Why would we do this and get paid even less for the most horrible dictators, the worst sound quality, nothing in repository to help, being in the cesspool, yadda, yadda, yadda. As per usual during an incentive (I work FT and work Saturday), half way thru my shift I get NJA. *** On these stupid incentives, I just pray that I can even get my hours in much less any freaking OT. I finally had got enough 100% post-audits to overcome the critical error that I had the first week of October to bring myself up over 99% and they found 2 critical errors in 1 report that brought me back down to 98%.
