Maybe you should see what your current and previous transcriptionists feel about working for your disgusting, nitpicky, greedy, company.

I really feel the bulk of these companies need to be blatantly aware of what they are doing to the industry from the inside out. If they continue to outsource for "cheaper payouts" then prepare for cheaper quality.

I cannot believe how micromanaged MTs are. I could be paranoid but I think the purpose of this is to force out US MTs and replace them with MTs from India who work cheaper. It is an awful company who bought up American companies and accounts and now is finding ways to force MTs who worked well for years for the American companies out by nit picking and micromanaging.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was paranoid working for them. I was almost certain that my reports were being changed or edited but couldn't prove it. I was so excited at first to get the job, but once I got into it I knew I had made a mistake. Now I'm on the verge of taking a test for Acusis or whatever and I feel just as nervous about doing that. It sucks so bad the downhill turn this field has taken in the last 10 years.

Sadly, they see to wear their abuse on their sleeves and are proud of it. I got out of there a while ago, but it took me about 9 months to find another job.

The company I went to work for started acquiring off-shore contracts that were returning to the US because MDs got sick of the lack of quality and endless error from foreign MTs. The company I work for now is BOOMING because of people like Nuance and MM, who sacrifice quality and competence by sending work off shore. With this new company, I have NEVER run out of work, I am treated with respect, and have NONE of the BS that Nuance and ther TLs love to heap on the horse that pulls the load...what are they going to do when they run out of people in the US to abuse? At that point, they no longer need the TL memes that continually throw MTs under the bus to make themselves look good.

If you're testing for Acusis, you're making another - mistake. Theyre just as bad as Nuance. nm

While most normal companies' goals are to provide employee support and a productive/pleasant work environment, Nuance strives to find as many errors as they can for their employees. If they are unsuccessful in finding any, they totally make up and/or alter your work to be able to discredit and intimidate you. Plain and simple truth is that they are professional bullies!

I have sent emails to a couple news agencies (such as CNN) telling them about the plight of MTs. Never heard back. Maybe if they receive enough complaints, they will investigate and do a report.

I agree if they get enough complaints, it will catch their attention. How many times have you heard news stories where someone said no one would listen, but they kept trying until someone finally did. I personally think people will be surprised that even our "office jobs" are going overseas.

I agree that with a group effort from all US MTs that we could catch some media coverage of our plight and it MIGHT make some changes. Unfortunately, there is always that chance that our issues will take a back seat to everything else going on in the world. And lets not forget...we are at the ultimate mercy of the greedy pigs that run the companies.

I agree that something should be done. We are barely paid anything for our work, basically modern day slaves if you really want to think about it. The company I work for...which I will not name...is horrendous. Like most, barely any pay for SR, high production marks so you dont get incentive, and barely making any money to pay the bills. I have just asked to be taken off of an account because of it severely cutting my lines. Intentional? Maybe, probably. I am currently looking for another job. I love working from home, but at this point, it has to be about survival. Im struggling as it is and I know many more out there are too. We are the ones that work to MAKE their paycheck. Surely they could afford to pay us better. Talk about doormat. I will weather the storm until something else comes along. If there is potentially a way to organize a mass complaint to news stations or whoever, Im in. Perhaps a petition to the president (through Change.org maybe?) Labor board? Not sure, but time for us to kick a little!

For awhile now and have applied for tons of jobs outside the MT industry. I haven't had a lot of luck until all of a sudden it's like an explosion of jobs just this week. According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs. ...

If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay.
