I was one today, who "joined the lawsuit." Reason being is that I have worked for MANY companies in MANY capacites and have found companies whom like TTD and other companies are subcontractors for other companies - yes, there are compllaints of "low work/no work;" its not necessariy India or the Phillipines, but AMERICAN companies or individual MTs who are SOOO swamped they put ads on and hire people. I recently did QA for a company and was told not to touch a certain group -- Escripton GUESS WHOM -- Nuance -- lack of work is NOT necessarly due to "foreign countries," but greedy MTSOs -- Golden Isles, Oracle, FuturNet to name a few.

Chase and TTD - GAMT
[ In Reply To ..]It's interesting that I just heard in a meeting at Chase a couple of weeks ago that they aren't using TTD any longer. I didn't even know they used them in the first place. Chase has little to no regard for quality, so I'm thinking that they aren't dealing with TTD any longer due to the lawsuit more so than any issues of quality.

[ In Reply To ..]Many large firms are sending work to different companies so if one is down, another is still up. I QA for a company and when I go to pull work, there are 7 other companies on there. The company who does our transcription is in India of course. I was in management before as well and a huge problem is people not wanting to show up on time, always having an emergency, always sick (especially close to the weekend). The work ethic isn't always there and companies have to overhire to make sure somebody shows up. I helped out an IC company and they went by the law, pure IC and on any given day right before time to work emails would pour in. I never saw so many young people with so many ailments.

[ In Reply To ..]Back in the day when I stood to lose a lot of moneyby missing work, or not working as hard, etc., I really kept my nose to the grindstone and worked as hard as I could.
Now, at 3-4 cpl, I only stand to lose a couple of dollars when I'm not working. So goofing off once in a while doesn't carry the financial consequences it once did.

[ In Reply To ..]the lawsuit. The more documentation you have, the better. Being told to not be honest with your hours worked is against federal labor laws. It is done because the truth would require them to make up the difference to minimal wage. Having to work over 40 hours just to make a liveable wage or to keep benefits but lying about OT is against federal labor laws.

I'm trying to use just my balance ball right now. I have some low back problems and find that my posture is horrendous with sitting in a normal office chair; however, just the balance ball alone seems to be a little too low. I graduated a year and a half ago from a very good MT school. I graduated with high honors and felt ready to tackle this profession. I have over 30 years experience. I have worked in 2 major hospitals and as an independent contractor. I know what I am doing. Problem is, I am human. I make mistakes. If I take the CMT test the goal is to increase my income from my current earnings as a full time MT/ME. But is it worth the $$ and time required to prepare for and take the CMT test?
