scriberight DMTs...have any of you heard this? - Say it aint so

Posted: Aug 30, 2012

I really hope what someone let slip isn't true but have any if you heard that Al is no longer with ScribeRight? That he got fired?? I thought he was a partner...how does a partner get fired?? Has anyone heard this? I hope it isn't true...he and Helen are the only "top management" I like....

Just saw the email..... - And I do not like this at all

[ In Reply To ..]
I can't believe this - Al and Helen were the only 2 people I liked working for. I never like having to talk to Lisa - and now she is the only one in charge? And what's this about Al moving on to other things? I thought he had partnered in this company? What is really going on - did he get fired??

just because ..... - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
he was a so called "partner" in the company does not mean he was/is locked in for life. He probably is smart enough to have seen the writing on the wall a long time ago and put his eggs in a different basket. Going downhill. no news to me!

where is this email? - never saw it

[ In Reply To ..]
and I wonder if that's true if he will also be taking the prospective work he was trying to get for SR? hmmmmm.....
I have not seen this e-mail either.... - Bear

Would like to know why some of you seem to have seen it, and others haven't.

People move around in this field all the time - get over it - anon

Looks like he was with Mediscribe. Anyway you all will be let go without notice just like the rest of us did back July. Then you'll be all looking for MT work along with thousands of others on this board. Seems like there are more MTs than there are jobs, and it does not help when a place like Scriberight hires 80 people and then lets 50 or so go all at once.

sounds like someone is bitter - YOU get over it

[ In Reply To ..]
Man, you would think that after 2 months, you would be over the fact that you weren't good enough to keep around. YOU need to get over it and move on.

People were just wondering if/why/how a beloved member of the team may or may not be gone and there you go, chiming in about something that you know nothing about.

Maybe if you spent as much time job searching as you do warning others of the demise of their SR job, you might have found a job by now!

I, too, have seen no e-mail regarding this and.... - Pup2

I think, perhaps, this is a rumor started by a disgruntled former employee who is trying to stir up trouble.
It is true..... - DMT2

It is true. I got the email notice like some of the others were saying. I'm sad to hear Al is leaving, but I would bet he is leaving because no new contracts have been secured and we all know that means the project would be over. Sigh....I really like Al and absolutely hate to hear he has moved on. He seemed to be a true asset to the company.

I'm officially worried now. There was no explanation in the e-mail of any kind. I love this job and I'm going to continue to do it, but I'm very uneasy about this.
It's true... - anon

The email I received stated that Al was leaving to pursue other opportunities. That seems like an explanation to me.
Email Explanation - I am just wondering
[ In Reply To ..]
I agree with another poster that said they were uneasy about this. You have to wonder why, if this is the wave of the future, someone who was deep into the project would leave suddenly. I sent an email to Al to ask what happened. I will be interested to see if I get an answer back. I will keep working, but am definitely going to be pursuing other opportunities. I really hate to see him go.

[ In Reply To ..]
It seems odd that he's gone as of yesterday. Did he give notice or did something happen suddenly? He supposedly had bought into the company because he believed in it so much. That was only a few months ago. There's more to this story, I'm afraid. I already have a second job and today I applied for a third.
You shouldn't assume - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe he left for personal reasons, he could have personal things going on life, or maybe he wants to retire or get out of this business altogether? Who knows?! But you can't assume it has something to do with ScribeRight.
Why would you think this would be a rumor? - anonymous
[ In Reply To ..]
Especially by a former employee? I would think that most of the DMTs who were no longer working there would have moved on, but I see by the other emails this is true - that Al is gone. I am upset - this is going to change the working environment, I think, and most likely not for the better.

you all better secure a second job so your not left in the lurch like the rest of us were - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
They do no give notice, don't care about the people's lives they are screwing up financially. Just a week or 2 would of been nice, yes, I am bitter about it because I was caught off guard and it hurt my family financially, and by the way missy, I passed the accuracy test but it does not matter. They have no feelings, any other account I had that was ending always gave me a heads up out of decency. Hope you enjoyed the 2 months of money, because its likely ending soon. By the way I have a job, a former employer was nice enough to let me work nights and I am still looking for a day job to supplement, and its NOT easy out there.
I thought all MTs did have second jobs. What MT can make it - on one job? nm

Per recent post on Main Board, many MTs have more - than 2 jobs.

I sent an email back to ask what was going on - And I actually got an answer

[ In Reply To ..]
I, too, sent an email to Al asking what was going on, as this departure seemed completely out of the blue. I say that because DMTs were told of new work coming and how the work should last into 2013. Anyway, the email shed quite a bit of light. It seems he was fired by Lisa, and she had been trying to push him out of the company for months. The reason she brought him into the company was to get the DMT information and software he had, as well as his contacts for hospitals built over the years. Once she thought she had all she needed, she began to withhold money, began to attempt to renege on the contract he had, and was starting to do things to change his title and his pay scale. Apparently she told him the day before the email that he was fired and then sent the email out to the folks in the company. Now she is refusing to pay money he is owed which is stipulated in the original contract he signed. There must be a lot of questionable things going on behind the scenes in the management and it does not bode well for the future of the company. This is certainly disturbing - and may well affect jobs in the near future.

Wow. I feel bad for him. He is such an asset - he will find bigger and better

He is such an asset - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
How well do you know him? I didn't know him at all so hard to agree that he was an asset.

He actually told you this or this is what you speculated? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm surprised he told you this information. If true, things will come back to bite LP in the butt. What goes around comes around. She always liked to toot her own horn and think she was greater than any other company out there. Ruthless.

As my post title days, he answered back - to my email asking what happened (nm)

I have a hard time believing this - does not make sense

[ In Reply To ..]
As Judge Judy often says, if it doesn't make sense then it's not true.....

So much of this really seems odd to me - first off, if you were just a regular DMT, you shouldn't have had a ton of contact with Al, so then, why would he divulge all this private information to you? Secondly, and I know this is hard to believe, but sometimes disgruntled employees do have a tendency to exaggerate the whys/hows they were let go. I know we NEVER see that on this board because everyone is always up and up with why the Big Bad MTSO let them go when their work was so perfect, but let's be real here....
I cannot believe that Lisa being in business as long as she has would refuse money owed on a binding contract and still be in business this long.

Something about all of this is suspect and we will NEVER know the true reasons because Al can say what he will to whomever and Lisa probably has the business sense not to bring everyone into the drama.

FWIW, I only had about 2 dealings with Al ever myself, so really I doubt I will even notice him gone.

Questions For ScribeRight DMTs
Feb 16, 2012

I have seen a few posts from fellow DMTs on this board (and wish we had the chance to talk while working to ask questions of each other!) and wanted to ask a question of you here on the board.   I have had to send a couple jobs to QA to ask about a med or allergy for which I haven't found a match.  I've noticed the comments are less than complimentary.   Are you finding that comments received from QA are more degrading or condescending rather than helpful?  Or is it just me?  ...

Question For ScribeRight DMTs
Jul 09, 2012

For those of you working as DMTs, are you starting to worry about the scheduled conference call? All of them, it seems have worked hard to be sure things would go well, and we would have work, but this lull is about to do me in. I want to hope for the best, but I am wondering if they are going to let some of us go since they overhired, or let us know the work will either not be coming as scheduled or not coming at all. I guess I am imagining the worst case scenario. What do you all think? ...

Got A Reply From ScribeRight, Suggestions Anyone?

Ok, so I heard some great things about ScribeRight so I sent them my resume via their website. I got a reply back today, asking me a couple simple questions about my skills and also sent 4 files to transcribe (3 sound pretty easy, 1 will be hard for me since I have no experience in that field, Onc).
