Anyone ever worked for Scriberight? - SM

I used to work for them and I am just disgusted. They nit pick you to death over every detail and expect your work to be perfect, but they don't want to pay you anymore than the average job. Just wondering if anyone else had been with them?

I will bet that you are not alone.

I almost went to work for ScribeRight. However, I found the IC contract to be totally one-sided in their favor, and I wanted to add a codicil. It has been a while, but I believe it had something to do with the exact hours that I would work on Saturdays. The owner was impossible, totally refusing to allow any scheduling flexibility or any changes to her contract. Of course, I stopped the process then and there and never did work for her.

I for one am glad Scriberight is picky. It's nice to have a company care enough about quality and doing what's right for the patient to want work done correctly. I've been there long enough to know I don't want to look elsewhere, and I've worked for several places that just didn't give a rat's you-know-what about what an MT churned out. Sounds like you just weren't a good fit for quality they expect.

My work is quality work. I have many, many years experience as well as a 4-year degree in English. I have worked for 2 large teaching universities and several other jobs as an IC and employee from home. I have dealt with QA during each job I've had, and I can assure you that most of these companies cared about what they gave the client; however, I NEVER had so much criticism as I did from SR. It was something ALL THE TIME. Just trivial stuff. My point was, if you expect your employee/contractor to read over every report a second time and make sure it is ready for the Pulitzer Prize in literature, then you also ought to let their pay reflect that. It is common knowledge that MTs are paid on production and having to reword every sentence for grammar and search exhaustively for doctors names is not the norm in transcription. My point is just that I was making less than at other jobs and the QA feedback was rude. I have no problem providing quality work for a client. But I am human, and there is always a margin of error, no matter how good an MT you are. You will eventually make mistakes. I don't think putting a "comma" where a "semi-colon" should go makes any difference in patient care. Now I could understand if a patient name or medical record number was wrong, but I am referring to inconsequential errors like mixup of comma and semicolon, or not putting a comma where one was supposed to go, etc. Just my opinion.

I have had to send a couple jobs to QA to ask about a med or allergy for which I haven't found a match. I've noticed the comments are less than complimentary. Ok, so I heard some great things about ScribeRight so I sent them my resume via their website. For those of you working as DMTs, are you starting to worry about the scheduled conference call? All of them, it seems have worked hard to be sure things would go well, and we would have work, but this lull is about to do me in. I want to hope for the best, but I am wondering if they are going to let some of us go since they overhired, or let us know the work will either not be coming as scheduled or not coming at all.
