Why is it when a company "excitedly" acquires a new account it's the most horrid - sick of it all

And then expect you to be able to dole out the reports as fast as you do on your normal accounts you are used to and most productive? I am so sick of this profession as I know a lot of us are. So sad, for all the training we have, it's difficult to find anything else. I've never seen a profession where ay goes down and the expectations go up.

They're "excited" about making more obscene - profit at the expense of their MTs.

I know one of the last companies I worked for kept getting new accts. Well, apparently they were accts that other MTSOs had already had which were crap accounts with poor audio, dictators, etc. so those kinds of accounts were easy to obtain. I thought one difficult orthopedic acct I had in that kind of situation surely wouldn't go to VR, but just within a few months we heard it was going VR for 4 cpl. I said no.

keep getting back consistently bad transcription. They probably find it impossible to believe it could possibly be their own fault (sloppy dictating habits, too many ESL docs, and aging dictation equipment/software). So instead, they just hop from one MTSO to the next, in hopes that someone will be able to transcribe their mess.

My mind is in a weird place tonight.

I seriously doubt that most MTSOs are making obscene profits. Many are struggling themselves to stay alive, or at least make thier books look good enough to get sold at a high enough price to pay off their debts.

huge amount of money doing it? Why else do you think they're sending all the work offshore?

And really - it wouldn't matter if they only made a couple hundred thousand a year. If they continually cheat their MTs (which of course they all DO), then ANY profit they make is obscene.

MTSOs probably made decent profit at one point, but that profit has dwindled, just as MT wages have. This is a dying industry in the States, and that affects all levels of the business, from the rank-and-file to the MTSO presidents.

If you really believe that MTSOs are raking in a huge amount of money, you're delusional.

I am not sure if this is going on with your accounts, but I have noticed on my primary that there are a lot of old reports in there, from days and days ago. A few weeks back my team leader said ignore those TAT times because they were pulling old stuff for "training." It started with DS, and now I notice that there are old H&Ps and Consults in there. Did anyone ever contact a hospital after your account was lost to find out where it went and you were still employed with the former MTSO that had the account. Concerned about doing this if the hospital were to contact the MTSO and still employed there but not overly happy anymore.
