What is it with companies, I applied for four different - TJ

positions and did not hear from any of them, not even a thanks for applying, but no thanks. I have 10+ years of experience and met or exceeded all their qualifications. One company I did actually test for, never heard anything for days then finally a call and I missed the call and when I called back they would not even take my call, what's up with that?

Beg for experienced MTs and then never get back to the ones who reply and even bother to take their stupid tests. It amazes these places can do any kind of business, and what does it say about the hospitals who outsource their medical records to them?

Until this week, my husband had been out of work since December. Since that time we have kept track of all companies that he has applied with in person or online. He has placed over 100 applications and resumes and has only heard back from 12. Like you, it's not like he is inexperienced or lacking an education. With almost every application done online now, it almost seems like the whole hiring process has gotten so impersonal. They look for certain criteria and ignore everything else.

Even when you meet the criteria and they interview, they still don't bother to let you know what is going on if you haven't been hired. During the interview, they tell you they'll contact you within the next week to let you know and 2 weeks later after 4, 5, or more followup calls you give up when they don't even respond to your voicemails.

I would advise you that if a company does not have the class and professionalism to answer applications stay away from them. In addition stay away from TTS even if they do answer you - which I doubt they will even though they are advertising. Lots of incompetent people in charge there.

Seeing as though I am on unemployment - it was a requirement that I attend 2 workshops pertaining to resumes, interviews, etc - which were boring, but has to go through it. They encouraged that after an interview to send a followup email or written thank you note to the person/company doing the interview to show that you were sincerely interested in the positon and appreciated the opportunity for the interview. However, with that said - these companies should follow the same set of rules of courtesy. Just blows me away, as I have experienced the same ignorance of no response to tests and applications in the past few months. What amazes me is I only experience that kind of rude behavior when I apply for an MT position through an MTSO. When I apply for a local job in my community I always get a response back thanking me for my interest and taking the time to fill out their application as well as stating whether or not they will set up an interview.

too. I had responded to an ad for a local medical transcriptionist position and was contacted by phone by the staffing company for testing and an interview. After spending some time filling out the paperwork, doing a drug test and by the time I spoke with an interviewer, they ask, "And what type of job are you looking for?" It seems the position was already filled! They could have at least called me and saved me the time and effort.

I cannot reply to everyone who sent me a resume, but wanted you all to know that I was unable to keep the account I was subcontracting with, Patient First, so I will not be hiring any MTs to work on this with me. Applied with Transcript-USA. They emailed and said they wanted to interview me. They were supposed to call me yesterday. Then they emailed and said person was out of office due to emergency and would call on Monday. Then they emailed me today and said thanks for applying, but they can't use me! I applied for a Behavioral Transcription position with Q.E.D transcription. I took all of the exams, including the Clinic and Behavioral transcription exams. My question is this? What is everyone's issue really? I see a lot of complaining but I have found that in this industry if you do your work and stick to your schedule you make plenty of money. State is cali, and they're broke but the position is temporary (2 years) and with full benefits. The person who called me said he will be doing his best to push my application forward in the least amount of time but may take up to 3-4 months to actually get the job.
