Webmedx changes from Nuance to start - nn

Posted: Nov 02, 2011

Changes to start November.  Anyone have an idea what we might expect?

I expect a lot to change - anon

I wholeheartedly expect a lot to change. First, the benefits will probably get even more expensive and second I really think they are going to decrease our pay to 8 and 4 with an even harder to reach tier bonus program. I'm trying to be optimistic about everything but this is my honest opinion and I hope they prove me wrong.

And these changes will kick in just in time for our holidays! Aren't they thoughtful!

I really don't think they meant to do that on purpose though to be vindictive towards us, I think they just want the merger done by Jan 1st.

another pay cut may force some to QUIT and file for unemployment - just saying

[ In Reply To ..]

Wouldn't it be easier to just not accept ANY pay cut and file for unemployment? I know some who did just that and received the maximum benefits from unemployment which in some states is upwards of 500 dollars per week or 12.50 per hour. The deal is if we wait and keep accepting all these pay cuts and finally do get laid off or even quit then our maximum unemployment benefit will certainly go down because it is calculated on what you make. Its my understanding that if you have a significant enough pay cut and you refuse to accept it and quit you can get your unemployment benefits in most states.

Of course this would not set well with the MTSO since they have to pay into unemployment but on the other hand look what they are doing to our industry!! Just saying

They ALREADY pay into unemployment. - Veteran

You seem to be confused about how unemployment works.

They are paying into unemployment no matter what.

Their RATE may go up, however, with increased claims.

wmx/nuance new insurance rates YIKES - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
Wowza is all I can say for the insurance rates, I mean, I many not be able to make enough to pay for that AND taxes!

I don't understand how anyone affords insurance - I have been paying

[ In Reply To ..]
The family insurance for a few years now, and I find despite paying some $9000 a year in premiums, whenever something happens, even going to the PCP, I get stuck with a bill, from tests not included in the co-pay to the full cost of a CT scan that for some inexplicable reason is not covered until you pay the $7000 deductble (whyyy??). I may just drop insurance completely, since maybe then I can pay all those bills I owe since I won't be paying their $9000/year any more! How the heck do people afford this without going bankrupt, and why is this usury allowed? It just seems the most ridiculous source of inequality in this country, i.e. the people who can afford these huge premiums and deductibles and hospital bills are on the gold plated plans and pay less than us (shades of taxes), OR make enough to pay these charges in the blink of an eye! It makes me sick...but not sick enough to go to the doctor, because I can't afford it. Disgusting. And when the CEO says "Well, I am on the same plan." Well duh is all I say - yeah, on your salary maybe YOU can afford to pay that $1500 bill for a CT scan after you have paid $9000 in premiums for the year, but I sure can't.

I know how you feel - shaking head

[ In Reply To ..]
I wanted to click the reply button on the email this morning and ask just how they expect us to be able to pay those premiums on the pittance that they are paying us nowadays (and I'm sure that will likely take another cut with this integration as well). It would be over half of my sorry paycheck just for the insurance premium!

Webmedx - Do Not Start Nagging About Quality
Sep 10, 2010

First they post their thing on the community page, and tell us it doesn't matter how high our quality is, its our perceived quality by the clients that matters.  Why do they differ so greatly?  Is it because they have promised the clients the sun, moon and stars and told them we will catch EVERY error they make on their end? Whatever.  I took the time to read it.  Then I start getting nagging emails from my STM that I need to read it and how important quality is and bla ...

Confusion Over Start And End Of Pay Periods With Nuance
Dec 29, 2012

Okay, got the shift differential figured out but now I am totally confused as to the pay periods start and end dates. I have an email from Cathy Jones with Nuance that says this pay period runs from 12/22 to 1/4, which I think would be correct as it is 2 weeks.  My TL sent us an email this morn saying we have until 1/2 to approve our timecards and the pay period ended last night at midnight!!! What?  Don't we work two weeks and then get paid???? Please explain.  Also, have no ...

Questions For Nuance And Webmedx MTs
Jun 27, 2011

WMXers, those of you who use VR, are you continuing to use Wmx's program for now?  Are you being told whether you'll eventually move to Nuance's product? Is Nuance's VR program Dragon?  How well does it work?  Nuance put out Powerscribe which is a terrible program so I'm wondering whether Dragon (or whatever else they may use) is more efficient. ...

Nuance's Acquisition Of Webmedx
Jul 14, 2011

I saw the press release today regarding Nuance/Webmedx and was wondering, since Medquist bought M-Modal last month, if all the Webmedx accounts are being swiched over to eScription or Dictaphone (which Nuance uses), or if Nuance also acquired the Enterprise platform and all Webmedx accounts are back to that platform. Anyone out there with any additional information about how the QA folks will be handled? I'm a former Webmedx'er and a new (yet to start working) Nuance employee, so am ve ...

Webmedx/Nuance Combination ?
Sep 11, 2011

Anyone work for Webmedx and happy there?  Doesn't sound like there have been many changes yet with their buyout by Nuance.  Are you having enough work (or on a fairly regular basis)?  I know this varies by each area, but in general are most of you keeping out of the soup lines? If you hire on PT to try it out, can you switch to full time or do you have to wait so long? Is second shift the better shift to get more steady workflow? What is the difference in hiring on w ...

Webmedx/Nuance Question
Nov 15, 2011

It seems like lately no matter what account I am working on I am left with only the hardest to understand dictators and/or jobs with bad audio quality. Anyone else notice this or is it just me? I find it hard to believe that there are only ESL doctors at all 5 of the accounts that I work on. I'm sure there must be some good dictators somewhere, but I don't get them anymore. Anyone also notice the quality of ISR is absolutely pitiful? Getting more frustrated by the minute here. Jus ...

Webmedx/Nuance Lines Per Hour
Nov 18, 2011

How many lines per hour are most people averaging right now on this platform? I am getting a mixture of straight type /VR that varies daily. They have not shown us any reports of how everyone is doing as a group. I don't think I can make the quota in 8 hours to qualify for benefits. I am trying.  We have open enrollment for insurance ending November 30.  The 1st week in December, they will tell us what the pay plan is for the future.  Granted, insurance ra ...

What's With All These Webmedx Now Part Of Nuance Job Ads All Over The Internet?
Dec 05, 2011

The AD claims  they are “Best in KLAS”, AHDI Employer of the Year and still offer a production based incentive bonus? With everything we are hearing about Nuance taking them over and Nuances pay and bonus plan referred on here as  low. I Make $8.50 An Hour With Webmedx/Nuance
Dec 09, 2011

Since we were acquired by the big N, "We" are on the old platform, not Dragon.  I don't get any reports that have templates or normals. The account has thousands of doctors.  This is as much as I can possibly make under these parameters. So running our "salary calculator," it comes out to $8.50 an hour.  I was making twice this 2 years ago for same company before it was acquired. ...

Journalist's Deadline Question On Webmedx And Nuance
Sep 13, 2011

Hello:I am a journalist covering a local public hospital district where transcriptionists have just been outsourced to Webmedx. That company has apparently been bought out by Nuance, and I would like to know more from MTs who have had experience with either company. Webmedx,Subsidiary Of Nuance Compensation Decision.

I have read a few posts not only about the future compensation worries at Nuance for us "Webbers" but also mentioning the former CEO for Webmedx. I have worked for this man even before my Webmedx days. Webmedx/Nuance Pay Plan Unveiled Today.
Dec 13, 2011

It appears they have done away with our paid holidays.  We can work on holidays and have a bonus (if the facility is open and there is work).  If not, we have to take it out of our PTO or not get paid. My pay  by the new plan is cut from 9  typing and 5 voice recognition to 8 and 4 instead per line.  The incentive bonus requires 99% accuracy by QA audit, and 15% or less of reports going to QA, paid every 2 weeks.   ...
