It just seems to me like this particular person was trying to stir up a hornet's nest, which I think they did. That person then posted right after the first post, asking about which companies were straight typing only. One response, I believe was that this person should "go ahead and apply at a certain company anyway, because people may not work out."
I think that some people just don't seem to "get it." A company will advertise for a reason and that is that they have openings at that PARTICULAR time. The smaller companies that only periodically advertise, do NOT want to be inundated wtih resumes/applications, usually because of the fact that they don't have the office staff to handle an overwhelming number of resumes/applications. On the other hand, the companies that advertise constantly looking for help do so for a reason.
I have recently started working for 2 great companies. Both of which I sent a full resume to -- several pages and a cover letter, I tested and I was offered a position with both companies within 2 days of submitting my test results and testing extremely well.
Another thing that I do as well when I read the ads, is I apply to companies that I think I might be a good fit for. If they are advertising for hematology/oncology MTs or radiology MTs then I don't apply to those jobs, because I know that I would not be a good fit for that company and I would be wasting my time and theirs. I also have seen a lot of people on here that have complained about companies advertising for IC status and wanting a "schedule." So what? Do you want to work and maybe have a decent job? That is the company's way of saying that this is most likely the times that we will have the work available. One of the companies that I am an IC with I have the flexibility to work pretty much when I want and have not once run out of work in the period of time that I have been there. The second position, I was recently hired for, and yes, they asked for a "schedule of sorts," however, because of the flexibility of my other positon, I am able to fulfill the needs of that company as well.
Do your own homework, read what you see posted here regarding negative posts and maybe take them with a grain of salt. A negative person could be "slamming the company" only because that person did not live up to his or her end of the bargin in terms of when they would work or their line commitments.
There are usually 2 sides to every story.
