A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
TTS is recruiting, that is ironic! - but so true to form in this business. Every day I run out of work at some point during my shift and they say "We will let you know when it starts coming back in." Meanwhile I am making no money. I used to be a happy, loved my job, transcribing in the hospital - over 10 years ago. Since my hospital farmed out to these companies that I have tried to work for - NOT happy, not even able to earn a decent living. Have tried 3 different ones so far and its the same deal everywhere. I always run out of work & then I see that my company is posting for new transcriptionists. They are all so proud to say "We do not hire offshore" - but they also say you will NOT run out of work - and I can testify that you WILL run out of work, its almost as if they plan it that way to keep you from earning a decent wage. Maybe there should be a law passed that they have to pay employees $12/hour when they run out of work through no fault of their own. Maybe then we REALLY would not run out of work. What's an American transcriptionist to do???
