Still low wages. Wonder if it is because Nuance, the Dragon, gets a - cut of everything

The Dragon and sending work to India and the Philippines has taken over the hospitals.  Nuance is the Dragon and they now get their 2 cents.  That is part of the reason our pay has gone down...eaten up by the year of the Dragon.   Guess that would mean health care has gone to the Dragon, the CEOs and insurance companies.

Have worked for Nuance now for 6 months. Can barely make above minimum wage. 98% editing. They take any of your missed work hours directly out of PTO...I have only 14 hours PTO as of now. If you are sick, they take it out of your PTO. If you are OOW and do not flex (make sure you make up all time before Friday at 00:00 EST) they take it out of PTO. So, they don't cover sick time or allow you to just "be sick" for a day...they will take your PTO from you. Have asked 4 people in the last few days to send me a copy of my employment contract, as the link to mine has expired. We shall see if I get one, but yes...two cents a line. Direct TSMs are quite easy to work with; however, an MLS has no access to other MLSs for communication. I think they use this to keep us from "conspiring." Too many jobs being outsourced to India...where English is their SECOND language. Not sure how long I intend to stay.

Yes Nuance gets the accounts because of the Dragon and then outsources the work and gets a cut of everything. They control. They send work before midnight to India....told in-house that that would always be because it is "good business" and business means profit for the top of the totem pole. Even the American Indian did not get a cut...just a reservation. But what we have in common is a scalping, that's for sure.

Yes. The fingers are flying over in the wonderful land of India... American's first my behind. How many medical facilities and hospitals know this is happening? Apparently they just don't care.... I'm seriously considering Starbuck's - they pay really well in my area.

How many are aware of the wage disparity between different accounts (they don't find it necessary to tell us such a silly detail as the hourly wage, you have to look it up online).  With the new accounts, some pay quite low (as low as MB that no one wants to work on) and it may be a shock for those working on those accounts when they get their paychecks! I've got the form to file a complaint re:  Not getting paid for research, verifying patient name, cruddy dictators who shouldn't be in VR/ASR, etc. The person filing the complaint has to figure out how much the employer owes - any suggestions, or examples?  Say, for over a year's time? Does anyone else feel this way, work hard, trying to do a good job, need to pay the bills, need the insurance and end up with $80 for a full day's work and that is sometimes on a good day but $10.00 per hour seems to be on average what I get, after looking up docs, looking up meds, relistening to blanks, relistening to diagnosis, trying to understand lab values and yada, yada, yada.  Everyday becomes a marathon just to make $10 bucks an hour - haven't earned so little for man ...

I was wondering if anyone uses Dragon Naturally Speaking Professional to manage their workload as an IC.  I would like to be able to input my voicefiles into Dragon and have it produce a draft for me to edit (like at an MTSO).  I need to be able to create the profiles without needing to "teach" it because I want to have a different profile for each doctor I have so it will be more accurate.  I am wondering if the cost would be worth the time savings or not.   I know it wasn&# ...
