SoftScript shift differentials - Narrowing it down

Does anyone know about the shift differentials offered at SoftScript?  It is my understanding that you get $0.005 cents for anything after 4 PM PST and $0.01 for anything on the weekend.  Their site, however, says there is a special differential for Friday and Saturday afternoons.  Does anyone know what that differential is?  Also, if one were to work weekend after 4:00 PM, do you just get $0.01 or do you get $0.015 (weekend/afternoon combined)?  Every little bit makes a difference! 

Also, I have viewed previous posts on SoftScript, but just curious as to how their workflow has been doing as far as Acute Care accounts at present time (I would be a high-tier transcriptionist...all work types and specialities).  I cannot afford to be without work.

Acute Care or Clinic - Accepted position

Do you do all WT and specialties? Are you clinic or acute care? Are you straight transcription or SR?

I sure hope they have more work available as I accepted a position today and it was for second shift. I love the fact that SS offers straight transcription, but I cannot afford to be without work. I do realize that with holidays things may be a bit slow. Why would they pay differentials for shifts they do not need coverage for? Seems as though they would ask one to work another shift.

Do you have a secondary? Have you talked with your Team Lead about getting another account? What is your QA score?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but sometimes when one has no work it is because they are limited in what they can do, and I just wonder if that is the case or if everyone runs low.

admittedly I hate, but I was told it was not offered. I have never said "no" to any work offered. I have been a transcriptionist for over 35 years and I have done practically everything and I know you have to take the bad with the good.

I have a secondary account which consists of a tiny hospital which has maybe 10 physicians on staff, so basically no backup. I have BEGGED for a tertiary account but generally am ignored. I didn't get a team leader until yesterday, so there has not been anyone to talk to about anything. QA emails go unanswered. I can go on and on.

My last QA score was 100% and the one before that was 99.87. I am not sure why you automatically assume the MT is at fault when you haven't even started working at the company yet. I was all "rah rah" too when I first started this nightmare I will call my term of employment with them. I was ready to quit and they finally gave me a 3rd account, so we will see what happens. If it had not been for my other job, I would be homeless if I had to rely on the wages I receive from SoftScript.

I wasn't necessarily assuming it was the MT's fault and didn't mean to imply that. I was just asking to make sure that wasn't the case, as sometimes it is. Sounds as though I have reason to be concerned, but I have not quit my other job yet and will not until I experience SS firsthand. Are you a recent hire as well?

Anyway, I truly do appreciate your responses, it gives me a good head's up of what to expect. I will keep my eyes and ears open for another position just in case. Let us both hope that work picks up at SS soon. Perhaps the lull is secondary to the holidays.

rain on your happiness at your new position. Now that they have the team leaders in place, it is very well possible that things will improve. I have been there almost 3 months now, so I am on the fence. If it doesn't improve quickly, I need to move on and quit wasting my time. On the other hand, I already have 3 months invested, and if it does improve then I owe it to myself to stay. I hope to work another 20 years or so, and I would like to find a place to call "home," although I probably will always work 2 jobs as I have been burned too many times to totally trust my income to one company.

So, I'll put on my positive, optimistic, happy hat and say, "Welcome to SoftScript." :-)

but sometimes I pray for that message. I need the money for sure, but sometimes it's nice to get that excuse to get up from the computer and do a load of laundry....or pick my nose....or whatever it is I can't do since I'm chained to this damn machine. ;-) Hahaaa! I have plenty of work from SS for some reason. Knock on wood, but I have 4 accounts and they all seem to have work.....some more profitable than others of course.

For those of you that can't get answers by email.... do like I do... I CALL them. I feel like they owe us that much to communicate. I have to say having a production manager is awesome. She gets things done when you need them. I was lucky and got the first one, so have had her a couple months and it is great. I very rarely run out of work. I work evening shift 1-930 eastern time. I think it totally depends on the accounts you have, and you have to be a broken record sometimes to get more work or get whatever you need answered or attended to. Definitely not the best paying job I have had, nor as easy to make money. I went from being paid for spaces to SS and that really hurt money wise, but am thankful to have a job... so many people do not.

I was wondering if it's really worth it to work the 3rd shift?  Does the additional CPL really make that much of a difference.  Does the workload stay steadier during that time?  I've been offered a 3rd shift part-time job, but just don't know if it's worth revamping my entire day to work this late.  Would anybody working this shift let me know how it works out as far as sleep, daytime errands, etc.? ...

I have been working third shift for about three months and am still having some trouble getting used to it.  My question is do you work your shift then go to sleep or do you stay up until later in the afternoon and then sleep until your shift starts.  I work a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and am trying to find the best way to be able to stay awake during my shift.  I do not drink coffee.  I have tried some of those energy drinks that are sugar free, which helped some, just now wond ...

many of us will be reassigned to 2nd or 3rd shift. If you are assigned and do not comply, you will be considered as having resigned. Hmm... sounds like a way to lay off/fire people in a way they won't be eligible for unemployment. Can't get unemployment for quitting (resigned)! I'm considering taking a 3rd shift job, which I've never done before. Any suggestions on making the transition to working 3rd shift from days, staying awake without depending on too much caffiene, getting enough sleep during the day, etc. I also have a puppy that will be at home with me during the day and am wondering if he needs to stay up with me at night so he will sleep during the day also.  I would appreciate any and all advice.
