Same companies hiring day in, day out..... - and why?

Because the synopsis of their ads are, We want:

2nd and 3rd shift only......availability when it is not your shift.....weekends......holidays.....99% accuracy......no benefits.....no vacation......no sick time....able to handle garbage dictation.....years of experience......strict schedules even for ICs.....ability to change your shift without notice.......2 hour testing required.......AND DO NOT EVEN TELL YOU WHAT THE PAY IS, only later to find out it is 6 cpl typing, 4 cpl VR. Really..........?????

Day in, day out....I see their ads sounding like a broken record. We need new places to search where they do not go.

Plus their ad might indicate they are hiring for certain time slots, then they offer you something outside those parameters entirely. This is after jumping through all the hoops to get to the job offer. Oh, and they act like they are doing you this huge favor.

No, if a company wants qualified transcriptionists or speech editors, they need to negotiate what works for everyone. The MTSO is already ahead of the game with not paying taxes, equipment expenses, office expenses, sometimes no time off, and usually no other benefits. Plus, they NEVER guarantee work being available.

This business just keeps going further downhill. I hope the MTSOs need more and more QA people to deal with inexperienced workers because the good MTs/editors gave up.

considering when work ran out and we have asked for secondary accounts they refused to train any of us on anything new....so they have people sitting there with nothing but are constantly hiring. how does that one make any sense?

Specific days, shifts and type of accounts. Plenty of work on my account. nm - happy

are offering bonuses again. I would expect at some point with supply and demand a lot of MTs including me will either get out of the business or go PT or retire and there will be less people looking for jobs. Just a thought. I started a job part time last week, doing 2 days a week and have been out of work 2 of the 4 days I was supposed to work and was told to flex my hours. I have 25 years of experience and am looking for P/T work on eScription. I have an Expert Certification in EditScript and am a fast and accurate editor. WTF is going on? I am no longer an MT, but I still care about a lot of people who are still TRYING to work at the Q. Just popped over to mtjobs and the Q has an ad on there for MTs wishing to embark on a world class....etc. It's unacceptable that the Q doesn't let anyone know what is going on at the MT level, starve out all the experienced ones they "acquired," then offshore to Inida and hire a bunch of newbies. I see an opening at TTS but when reviewing posts about TTS it sounds like a bad place to work with incompetent recruiters and managers. It seems 95% of the posts are bad regarding TTS. some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

The ad they have placed here indicates wanting 40 people for new accounts, etc. However, I just received an email about job openings for only 2 very heavy ESL 1-9 shifts. Is this just a scam so that employers don't have to pay benefits and employer taxes? I bet if there was an audit, most ICs and MTSOs would be in trouble for using that classification improperly, especially for the full-time positions. I even applied for a full-time secretarial job in a small law office recently, and was told I would be hired as a contractor with no benefits. I was stunned and declined.
