Anyone here work for MDI- Medical Dictation Services, Inc.? I did years ago, and I'm filling out an employment application. I need to know their contact number and zip code. It seems like there was something about them merging with Transcend last year or so, so are they known as Transcend now? Thanks so much for any help you can give. I'm googling it but not having much luck.

They sold to Transcend and now Transcend is Nuance. nm - Good luck

still sad about the demise of MDI. Transcend was okay, but am not happy with Nuance. My once very very busy account is not anymore, my benefits have been reduced, pay took a big cut, and everything including schedules is tightening like a noose around my neck. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the zip. If you have a phone number, that would be great. I could provide it on this application and explain to the perspective employer that it may no longer be valid, I suppose. I don't know if they'd be able to call them for a reference or not.

and was surprised to find that she got over $15 million!! This has nothing to do with your question ... just kind of boggled my mind.

Since the company is now part of Transcend/Nuance, unless your former supervisor/lead is still there, I am not sure about what kind of reference you could get, unless they could just verify that indeed you worked there on the dates you say. The sale was in 2009, so maybe you have a more current reference?

Wow. I agree. That is mind boggling.

I do have more recent references. The application just needed my last 5 employers listed, and MDI was one of them. Oh well. It will just be one in the list that probably won't be very helpful. It's not the only one!

I have worked for several companies that were sold to other companies. I just list the company name as it was when I worked there and then in parentheses note (now new company name). I don't try to list a contact number. If they want one, they will let you know.

In your case, I would say MDI-MD (now Nuance).

The MTSOs still in business (IMHO) are acutely aware of the shell games of acquisitions and the difficulity in verifying older work histories, especially ones 3-5 years old or so.

Has anyone ever heard of this company? A little worried because when you ask about pay no one is sure when you get paid. 7 cents a line for independent contracting and for radiology? What is going on with this business? The hospitals at least treated us with hourly wages and health benefits. Now what gives? Has anybody left medical transcription at home to become a medical scribe? I have an opportunity to do so but there aren't any scribes currently in my area and I don't know anyone who has worked as a scribe before. I want to warn all who look for jobs on this site of a company to be aware of - Interpro Services, Inc out of Arizona. They are ruthless, have the worst dictators in the industry and management could not care less whether you make any money or not. When you complain, you get "your contract terminated".
