Which would you choose?

Search archives, not sure about Landmark but there has been loads of info about Oracle recently. (nm - anon

If you search the archives, there is plenty of information about both of these companies from MTs who have worked there.

Why not? Does anyone have recent information about either Landmark or Oracle? (I see where Landmark has some recent ads on the job seeker's board.) Does anyone know of any other companies besides Landmark and Oracle that use Bayscribe? Thanks in advance.

I loved my job there. I had one account, transcribing the type of reports I loved to do, worked part-time with the days/hours I wanted and was left alone. However, trying to get someone to answer emails was a chore. It took weeks of emailing to be able to see my paychecks online. Then one day out of the blue, I was locked out of the system and told they didn't have anymore work for me. I never had any complaints about my work. I had asked the QA person to please let me know if there were any other accounts I could switch to. Funny thing was that a day later there were two ads on here, one being for the account I was working on, but for a full-time person, and the other for a brand new account. They over-hire and then let people go without a care in the world. I'd keep looking and save yourself from having to find a new job in a few months when you're locked out of the system.

Management is unprofessionl, QA is arbitrary and would benefit from anger management, no shift differential, PTO only after been there for one year, no holiday pay, no OT, expected to "pitch in" and help every weekend or "you're not a team player", declining line counts for time invested than previous on same account.

I thought OT was mandatory if someone worked more than 40 hours a week. At least in California it is.

Yep, you would think so. There is not a definite set schedule; instead you commit to a number of lines per day.

When I worked at LM there was RARELY any OT. Most of the time it was NO work. Of course you start out with accounts that are behind, so work, work, work and you think that is great, BUT then it dries up. You can go months with no paycheck whatsoever.

Playing the devil's advocate. You'd sit and wait for work for months? Not too smart.

There is no OT pay at LM because you say how many lines you will do in a day. FT is considered 1000 lines a day, which is very low, and I would think most MTs could get that in less than 8 hours a day. I am considered FT by their standards and work 5 hours a day. Therefore, when they ask me to do a little extra, I do because it's not really OT is it. I have had plenty of work since being at LM. They do leave you alone to do your work, which is what I love. And, they have offered incentive when the work has been way out of TAT.

I haven't had much work for months. Since last summer actually. Can never make minimum. Sounds like a pretty reasonable place to work. Hardly ever read any posts here about them so I assume, no news is good news and their employees must be fairly content. Just curious, as they seldom hire. I applied, but I am acute care/hospital transcription and they were looking for people to fill multispecialty clinic account, so folks who have an extensive background in clinic work. No one answers my emails when I ask why my accounts have no work. It's been going on for a very long time, but so much worse now. I thought a new account was going ot start, but I haven't heard a word about it. Is something going on that I don't know about? I haven't seen any recent posts about a lack of work at Oracle. Have things settled down to where everyone has sufficient work? I'm working for them PT and have only had 1-2 occasions where I've run out of work; however, my FTE is running out of work on an increasingly frequent basis and, if there's sufficient work at Oracle, I'd be interested in switching over to them as a FT position. I know that Oracle/OTI's ASR is done on Bayscribe. I have worked on Bayscribe before and like the platform (for straight typing anyway as that's all I've done on Bayscribe). But my question, is Oracle's ASR as good as I've been told? I just applied at Oracle. I don't understand what they pay per line. It says they have eScription as one of their platforms. They want 3500 LPH part-time, 5000 LPH full-time. Are they still in business or really hiring. I was able to get onto their site but I seem to find things about them that are old - like comments. Also, are they a big company? Thank you. ...
