Oracle? - Lookin2011

I've applied to Oracle....any thoughts? Are they heavy ESL? Any info appreciated! Thanks!

Been there since last fall - great people to work with. Nobody bothers you. Pay not what I'd like, but the platform makes it easy to get what you need. They have their share of ESL....but pay always on time, and they are extremely flexible. At least, that has been my experience.

I am currently making .7/line on a 65 character line with zero flexibility in my schedule. Is your pay worse than that?

Schedule very flexible - pay average for industry right now I suppose....I don't post line rates b/c they may be different for everyone depending on experience, something to keep in mind. Got nothing to lose - the flexibility on the job is one of its most important aspects. And good communication with your TL if something comes up where you can't work. Good luck.

Joined them earlier this year at 8 cpl, IC status so the pay may not work out much better overall if you're employee in your current job, but it suits me fine because I have a full-time career and IC transcription provides much-needed business tax breaks for me.

You'll definitely do better in the flexibility category. You fill out a calendar at the start of each month inputing the number of lines you plan to do on which days. No one's bothered me if I missed a day, but I work on a whim so if I'm bored and just sitting around the house on an unscheduled day, I'll transcribe and so it balances out. You don't keep set hours. You just state how much you plan to do and on what days you plan to do it.

Pay UBER fast - pay period ends on 30th, check sitting in my mailbox on the 1st (I live near their office); DD in the bank evening of the 2nd once I got it set up.

I do QA and transcription for them, and I love it. Left alone to do our work, fast as lightning payroll, great communication, and overall just a pleasure to work for. Glad I'm not the only one delighted to be part of their team.

I use to work for them and so happy I left. The above three are probably the only three happy with them. Anyone I have ever spoken to that has worked for them does not trust them. They repeatedly lie to their ICs, consistently over hire and leave their MTs with little to no work. I hope you look somewhere else, for your own good.

Sounds like a pretty reasonable place to work. Hardly ever read any posts here about them so I assume, no news is good news and their employees must be fairly content. Just curious, as they seldom hire. I applied, but I am acute care/hospital transcription and they were looking for people to fill multispecialty clinic account, so folks who have an extensive background in clinic work. No one answers my emails when I ask why my accounts have no work. It's been going on for a very long time, but so much worse now. I thought a new account was going ot start, but I haven't heard a word about it. Is something going on that I don't know about? I've just started working with Oracle, and seem to like it okay so far. However, I am reading all these posts here about pay decreases, no work, and no communication. I haven't seen any recent posts about a lack of work at Oracle. Have things settled down to where everyone has sufficient work? I'm working for them PT and have only had 1-2 occasions where I've run out of work; however, my FTE is running out of work on an increasingly frequent basis and, if there's sufficient work at Oracle, I'd be interested in switching over to them as a FT position. I know that Oracle/OTI's ASR is done on Bayscribe. I have worked on Bayscribe before and like the platform (for straight typing anyway as that's all I've done on Bayscribe). But my question, is Oracle's ASR as good as I've been told? I just applied at Oracle. I don't understand what they pay per line. It says they have eScription as one of their platforms. They want 3500 LPH part-time, 5000 LPH full-time. Are they still in business or really hiring. I was able to get onto their site but I seem to find things about them that are old - like comments. Also, are they a big company? Thank you. ...
