Great company--see earlier posts. Treats employees well (no ICs), very organized, professional, fair. They pay training pay, downtime if necessary, HIPAA training, etc. Small company. Standards are pretty high, and it's not for everyone. Their VP is a former MT and hospital HIM manager so it's a well-run operation as far as MTSOs.

Excellent company. Good bennies. Treats employees fairly. Very quality oriented - and they pay you well

I left there maybe 3 years ago when they had a reduction in force. They announced that they would be cutting some people, and I assumed I would be one of them, but later learned I was not, but since I had already accepted poisition with the other company and received their computer, I went ahead and left. BIG MISTAKE. They provide equipment, used the ExText program, paid for spaces, footers, headers. We did have to sort of clock in and out, but was not a problem.

Can you explain about "we did have to sort of clock in and clock out"? - yochana

Can anyone shed light on how flexible optiscript in State College is? I read on here how the unit manager will work with you if you need to change a schedule or need time off, but if you give an 8 hour schedule do they mind if you do not always adhere to it minute by minute or do they give you a little room to breathe. I heard they have split shifts but just wondering how strict they are with the schedules you give. TIA. ...

Two weeks ago, Opti lost their last Nuance-generated account back to Nuance, which was their biggest, and then let some MTs go due to lack of work, even if they weren't on the account lost (which is just a weed out process to keep only their best or those with CMT-which is not fair if you held up your end of the bragain from the beginning). I read the posts below on the difference between an IC and an employee. However, in applying to what was reported to be a "good company to work for" recently, I was told of the schedule I needed to be "willing" to work, as well as the rate I would paid, even though I thought it was low. I looked but do not really find much current info for this company. They "seem" pretty liget with basic line requirements, decent pay for VR, good benefits, ect.
