Does anyone know if Medscribe in Florida uses an external recruiter, someone who recruits for more than one company?

I think there's a possibility that GJ, the recruiter for Medscribe (and has been for a long time; he's a friend of the owner, I believe) is also recruiting for a company that's often mentioned on this site. Now, I can't say that this is a fact, but it's been my impression for a while. It's as if, when you apply at Medscribe, he's simultaneously assessing your skills for this other company, and one time he actually suggested that I apply at the other company. At first, I thought that perhaps he was like an IC, able to represent more than one company. I'm not sure how this all works, but it seemed odd to me.

It's probably not a good idea to speculate when I don't have facts, but I had the same question you did.

I think you're correct. He used to be associated with a company bought out (of course) by iMedX several years ago, and he does seem to recruit professionally at this time for more than one MTSO. When I have spoken with him in the past, he did offer me several options with a bit of "inside scoop" on each of the companies, but pushed me in a specific direction at the time. Nice guy, very personable, good salesman, making TONS more money than us, that's for sure.

Don't know that I agree with "nice guy." Believe me when I say he keeps meticulous records on every interview; I would guess that he has an enormous database on a LOT of MTs. His whole "let me share with you the 'inside scoop'" is part of his gig. I think he used the exact same phrasing with me.

Nice guy charm makes a good salesman. I don't doubt for a minute that he has a huge database. I'll bet he's one of the Keepers of the Blacklist.

Maybe small companies don't need a FT recruiter, but I would imagine they have some kind of non-compete contract too. Scary to think you could be talking to a recruiter about new job and not know he was also employed by the company you were leaving (and hadn't turned in official notice yet). You sure this recruiter works at more than 1? Maybe this profession is just making us all paranoid.

MTs can be ICs. Recruiters can be ICs. An IC MT can have more than one contract, and so can recruiters. Yes, pretty scary.

I have debating on applying to both of these companies. Does anyone have an opinion one way or the other? Steady work, decent account with ability to make a liveable wage, and also benefits i.e. cost of insurance affordable? I know this is a lot to ask but I need to find the right fit. Confused on whether to go with MedScribe or not. They seem like really nice people, but would be a pay cut (but they pay for spaces and now not getting paid for spaces). It also seems like the work would be consistent. My biggest fears: Having to work Saturdays, but most of all, if I can meet their 1300 line a day requirement. I saw posts on here about Medscribe pay cuts and really didn't believe it until it happened to me. They lost their 2 biggest accounts, so what do you do, you cut the employees' pay who were bringing in the income. I just got an email about these positions. Sounds good to me. I only want part-time work, so this would be right up my alley. I was going to test with them, but first you are directed to download an .exe file which they say is a self-extracting zip file to install an audio driver. If I double left click on it, it pops up a box asking me to log in to a secure FTP site with a user name and password. If I right click and "save target as", it just says that it cannot download the file. Does anybody know if this means they aren't accepting new applicants, or is there some other reason I don't know about? ...
