Just got an email from them and like to see if anyone knows the company before I possibly waste my time and apply.

Where did the email come from? Does that sender email address have a dotcom address? Then that might help.

Otherwise, it could be the company on the other job board medservofamerica.com

If that is the company, the being paid monthly would turn me off. I can barely make it 2 weeks – just cannot seem to be able to put money away to use 3 weeks from now. Something always seems to come up that would make me dip into any extra I have stashed away. No way I could make it 4 weeks.

Do a lot of Independent Contractors get paid monthly now?

One of the places I work pays monthly - it is actually kind of nice (of course, I have 2 other jobs!) because it is like putting money in the bank, and I use it to pay my monthly mortgage payment. :) Gotta find some good in everything! :)

For some reason I kept a job post from mtjobs from back in January of 2010 from “MedServ.”

They wanted a C-phone, were paying by check, and only paying 7 cpl WITHOUT spaces for 5 years experience IC acute care work.

I searched this on the internet after receiving the email and it looks like it is a very new company out of Florida. They do pay monthly and from what I understand there is no set schedule other than meeting TAT for assigned client. Out of curiosity I emailed them back and received a reply stating that they were looking to be interviewing soon for ortho. Other than this, I have not been able to find anything else on them.

If it helps you any, the email they sent me was just to their website...medservofamerica.com. The website has the information on where to email your letter of interest, resume and references.

I recently took a job as an IC, thinking it would be great to make my own schedule. HOWEVER, I have to work when the work is there. There is no making my own schedule. The work flow dictates when I work. There is no work on Monday or Tuesday. Maybe a few reports trickle in late Tues, but then more work comes late Wednesday afternoon, then work Thurs, Fri, Sat, and by Sunday no work again. Account is for clinic docs, no acute care. I would love to hear from each one who is in this category and tell me if you as an independent are getting the following: The site says many companies that hire ICs give full benefits including sick leave, health insurance, sign on bonuses, paid vacations, retirement plans. Coumadin 30 mg per day. Now, I want to make sure I'm not dreaming here, but that is completely incorrect, right? Maybe I'm having a brain lapse (been an MT for 20 years) but I want to make sure my thinking is correct that this dosage would probably be lethal? I'm going to leave a blank for the dosage, but I just wanted to double check with my MT friends. I have listened to it many times, and she is positively saying "30 mg per day." TIA!! ...

Hello everyone, I am about to complete my MT training with an online school and I am finding that many people seem very unhappy with their positions, the companies they work for, their pay, etc. I am curious to know just how feasible it is to expect to find a job, be happy with it, and actually make a decent paycheck.
