Does anyone have any recent information or work experience with this company? They are hiring VR editors and paying .03 a line. Is this good/decent pay for VR or no? I have searched the archieves, but would like to hear from anyone who has or does currently work for this company with more recent information and experience! Thank you.

And this is as an IC--so you're going to be paying another penny a line yourself on your SS and payroll taxes!!! This is absolutely ridiculous and the owner should be put out of business. This is PURE GREED!!!

Not excusing the rate, but it sounds like this is a subcontractor - to one of the big MTSOs

3 cpl is a horrible rate and there is no way to make any money at it - unless you are on the most perfect VR system ever that needs little to no editing and that doesn't exist.

I would venture to guess that the service that is offering this is subcontracting out to MModal or Nuance, etc. I've seen these rates in those situations before.

Used to be that IC's were paid more because of no medical benefits or SS/Medicare contribution. Now IC's seem to have become throw-away labor, receiving some of the lowest wages. I worked as an IC in the distant past and received higher pay than employee status. Anyone who would even consider working for 3 cents/line should consider applying at Walmart. You would make considerably more money and have benefits. Think some of these companies are doing this because inexperienced MTs are willing to work for these wages just to be working. MT used to be a highly respected field and the people doing it were highly skilled. Sad to see what it has become.

don't want to pay for the service any where near what they previously paid years ago. Everything is about the bottom line. Not a supporter of the MTSO who mistreats or poorly pays their workers BUT hospitals devaluing our industry has not helped the MT either. Makes me laugh - - all roads seem to lead back to the patient record being available electronically to every doctor who needs to see the reports on whatever device they desire to see it in, but they don't seem to care about the quality of that report. Just the fact that it was available before the patient even wakes up in the recovery room and OH arent we marvelous for being able to do just that.

So Transportal now gets caught! Wage and Hour walks in their doors and audits their payroll and they are made to pay out MTs that were not paid minimum wage or overtime. When are these MTSOs going to stop thinking that because we work on production that we do not come under Wage and Hour laws! They're supposed to send transcription test today. It's been a few wks since I applied so forget what ad said. Found some posts in archives and somewhat concerned. One said they use "tests" to get actual work done, hired but never heard from again, another said scam (from 2006), pay 7.5 cents for 17 yrs of exp with clunky platform, and so on. But also looks like there are few different companies with same name. Already make over 7.5 cents so not interested in doing their test if that&# ...

Not much in archives & I just started IC with them as a temp position until I find something better. The pay is not great but it is per 63 character line count and the acute account I'm on double spaces PE section so that helps. Platform is DocQscribe which has to be the easiest one I've ever used out of M*Modal/eScription..etc. The speech rec is not as precise as eScription but on the + positive side this IS the 1st company that doesn't QA NITPICK unnecessar ...

Ours from the West has (thankfully) gone back to being another MME like the rest of us poor mortals. I found her e-mails to be bossy, snippy, condescending and picky to the point of absurdity.
