Very interesting. I have also sent my resume to Lutz just last week with a follow-up yesterday, 12/06/2010. No word. **** We are providing incredible amounts of our personal info to these unknown-to-us companies and setting ourselves up for potential ID fraud. I could name several companies who have received resumes from me with no courtesy reply. Just before sending another *** ad today, I heard a little voice in my head (my husband's) asking, what do you know about THIS company? Nada. And here we are at MTStars. So, what do we know about . . .

I, too, sent my resume to Lutz and heard absolutely nothing. I must say, I am in need of desperately finding a new position and have sent tons of resumes to those advertising for radiology and out of about 30ish in last couple of months, only one replied. I understand they get a huge response but would be nice if they had a person to do simply follow-up emails.

I don't know if that is a problem with a company or not, but I decided to. We don't know everything about these companies or if they are just nutty people on the other end. I removed my address and town, state, etc. I only have my name and my email and phone numbers.

Would someone explain to me how is that this company can legally pay us a lower rate for ASR compared to transcription? After they pushed ASR on me, (said that I wouldn't ever get a 50:50 ratio of ASR to transcription) I am getting mostly ASR work. My pay has dropped significantly. Can they do this? ...

Since the advent of voice recognition and overseas outsourcing, transcription has ceased to be a profession. I will NEVER -- repeat, NEVER make the money I was making as a transcriptionist at a hospital 5 years ago, before we were replaced by VR and cheap outsourcing to India. Now all that's left are transcription companies here in the U.S. that don't want to pay much more, lie to us and tamper with our line counts. GET OUT, GET OUT OF TRANSCRIPTION! ...

It seems that everyone has negative things to say about how employers do not pay MTs what they're worth and how they offshore the easy stuff, but pile on the lousy ESL stuff on the transcriptionists in the States. Too bad there can't be a general strike of U.S. MTs - a day without transcription - just to show how we're needed. It seems to be the only thing employers would understand. If anyone, especially brand new rookie transcriptionists, get a job offer from DIT transcription, DO NOT TAKE IT!!! I have worked there for about 3 months now and have yet to be paid. Wow, did anybody read their ad?
