A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
If anyone, especially brand new rookie transcriptionists, get a job offer from DIT transcription, DO NOT TAKE IT!!! I have worked there for about 3 months now and have yet to be paid. They will not return my calls or emails regarding this (but they return promptly when I have a question about a dictation) and when the owner, ****, did finally email me back, he said the check was in the mail, and of course, it wasn't. I did research the company before I took the job and this same story is all over the internet, so you could say that I should have known better. However, I got the job lead from my school, Allied Business/Medical schools, and when I checked with my career counselor, she said she did have a few graduates working for them that were getting paid and that she had one that hadn't been and had been told they weren't sure when they'd be able to pay her. Now I'm wondering if the school is also involved in this b/c it doesn't make much sense that they will pay some people and then completely ignore others that they owe money to.
Regardless, I suppose I am now going to be added to the online statistics of those scammed by DIT, *********, etc. I would just like to add to the warnings out there and hope I can keep one of you from making this mistake. The people that "work" there will be so accommodating and friendly and you'll think you've landed the perfect job, even if it does turn out you're only gaining experience and no pay. Don't be fooled. They are only being so sugary sweet to distract you while they are taking money out of your pocket.
I'm currently looking into legal action that I can take. If anyone has had an encounter with them and would like to join me in a class action suit, email me for sure. I have spoken to a few other people who are putting one together as we speak. And now, it is time for me to get back to the job search. :(
Have a great day!
